I received products from Bittersweet by Design for my review. All opinions are my own.
Do you read the “About Us” when discovering a new online business? I do. I want to “know” who I am doing business with. I love hearing how companies got their start and why they are in the business that they are in. I recently stumbled upon a business called Bittersweet by Design. When I read their “About Us”, I instantly became a fan.
Bittersweet by Design got its name from the Bittersweet Nightshade flower. This flower is said to mean “TRUTH”. Bittersweet by Design knows that in truth, some of the greatest things in life are bittersweet.
Their mission is simple–to offer fashionable items that also make the world a better place. They search high and low for items that are ethical and stylish. The brands they offer have the same values; they are sustainable, eco-friendly, charitable, have domestic production and/or philanthropic goals. You probably won’t find the latest fads at Bittersweet by Design. What you will find are fashionable pieces made with high quality goods and timeless designs.
For my review, I received a wood Stones Throw Necklace and the Button Sleeve Tee in Fuchsia.
(Sorry about the selfie. My normal photographer was in preschool when I wrote this review.)
The Stones Throw Necklace is Fair-trade, handmade in India. The chain has an adjustable closure so you can choose its length each time you wear it. I love this unique design. The look of the wood grain against the gold rings is beautiful. Talk about a statement necklace!
The Button Sleeve Tee has a V-neck, long- sleeves and graduated rib binding on the neck and bottom hem. The upper part of the sleeves is adorned with a single row of buttons. The Button Sleeve Tee is made with 100% Organic Cotton.
I love this t-shirt. It is the softest shirt I own. I have been wearing it with my wood Stones Throw Necklace, animal print jeans and brown boots. I think the round wood discs of the necklace play well off the bottom details on the tee. I feel great in this outfit.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

I love the t-shirt. I am not in to chunky necklaces but you look fabulous.

I love the buttons on this top! And I love the choice of necklace, the color of the wood goes so well with the purple.

I love soft, cozy fabrics like that too! And the necklace is really nice as well. It lies flat and doesn’t twist which is great.

That necklace is gorgeous!
