 Peppa Pig is one of UK’s favorite animated TV characters for children. She and her family and friends have become quite popular all over the world and the series airs on Nick Jr. in the US. Kids love to follow Peppa and her brother George in their adventures and they can now have their very own Peppa Pig toys to bring along in their daily adventures!

This Fall, Fisher-Price and Candlewick Press launched new Peppa Pig products and kindly provided me with 2 toys and one book to review.

Here are a few Peppa Pig products currently available:

First, I received Bedtime Peppa. This is a soft 11” plush with her cute moon and stars blanket. It requires 2 ‘AA’ batteries. When you press on Peppa’s tummy, she will sing short nighttime songs and even count sheep. She also has a wake-up song.

My daughter loves Bedtime Peppa. She can easily press on her tummy to play the songs and she loves to hug her. Also, when she sings, Peppa’s cheeks light up and flash to the beat of the music which my daughter finds interesting. She’ll poke Peppa cheeks when they light up.

I noticed that the blanket is sewn onto one of Peppa’s hands. It could easily be removed (the thread if visible and could be cut without damaging Peppa) but I chose to leave it in place because it means that we’ll never have to look for the blanket in the middle of the night, in a pitch black bedroom or even search the entire house for it because it went missing. Crisis averted!

I like that this plush isn’t too big nor too small. My daughter can easily carry it around and it doesn’t take up too much room in her suitcase when we visit family. This might seem trivial but with 2 children, 2 dogs and 2 adults travelling together, space is a premium and we try not to bring more than necessary but obviously, my daughter always wants to bring a couple toys and stuffed animals. Peppa is a great choice because it helps to recreate our bedtime routine even though we’re not home.

The second item we received is Muddy Puddles Bathtime Peppa. This is a bath toy which includes a Peppa figure, a George squirter, a soft washing brush and a bathtub.

This is a very cute set! Peppa has a large muddy spot on her nose and one on her dress which magically disappear as George squirts water on her or when you brush them with warm water. The bathtub has 2 suction cups so it can be placed on the tub wall with all the pieces in it for easy storage. The bathtub also has a drain so as the toys dry, the water won’t collect in it. On the downside, it also means that as my daughter is playing with the tub, it will drain itself and she’ll need to pour more water in it. It would have been nice to have some sort of plug so Peppa and George can take a nice long bath.

The brush that comes with this set is nice. It has a soft side make of fabric which is perfect to watch Peppa and George. I do wish however that other items were included such as a small towel to dry them off, a tiny bottle of shampoo or soap, etc. My daughter doesn’t seem to mind though and she’s quite happy to rub the muddy spots on Peppa.

The other item I received is a book called ‘Peppa Pig and the Busy Day at School’. It has 32 pages and it is very colorful just like the TV series. The text is written in big letters which would make it easy for kids who are learning to read to follow along and recognize some of the key words.

In this book, we read about Peppa’s day at school where she learns to count, she learns the alphabet, she plays music, paints, and more. Not only do they do all kinds of fun activities but it’s also a very special day at school: Special Talent Day. Everyone is asked to share a talent that they have, something they like to do. It is indeed a very busy day at school!

Overall, I like all 3 Peppa Pig products. The Bedtime Peppa doll is both fun and soothing and helps create a nighttime routine. The Muddle Puddles Bathtime Peppa toy is a great hit with my daughter! She loves to wash those muddy spots away. And the book is very entertaining as well as having a great educational value.
