Ghosts, goblins, costumes, and decorations, oh my!  I received a gift card to Spirit Halloween to facilitate this review.  We headed to the local Spirit Halloween, is celebrating 30 years in business, to see what they all had available.   Driving up to the store, you can’t miss the neon orange signs.  (Thankfully because I’m not very good at directions.)  The kids were really excited to check out all the goodies inside.  As soon as you step in to Spirit Halloween, the atmosphere screams Halloween.  There are many displays and decorations set up everywhere.  There are a bunch of “step here” displays that caught us off guard at first.  I wish I would have gotten our 6 year old sons reaction to the first one he stepped on.  The spider jumped at him and he was definitely surprised!  He thought it was so funny that he had to do it a few more times though.

While the selection for little boys in the size we needed (3 or 3/4) wasn’t very large, overall the store had a pretty large inventory.  The worker was extremely nice and helpful and assisted us in having our son try some costumes on so we could find a good fit for him.  She even took the time to repackage each one for me (and even insisted that I didn’t need to help.)  I really liked that the store was clean, organized, and easy to navigate.  While the selection what we headed there for wasn’t big, our family found plenty of other things.  And yes, I did come home with the Batman Cape Shirt.

While you can order online, it’s nice to be able to see the products and try the costumes on before ordering and purchasing.  With over 1,000 locations, there’s probably one near you.  I’m really glad we chose to check out the store too because the costume we were planning on getting for our three year old was way too big for him.  I thought I would have been okay going a size up since it’s usually pretty cold in MN come Halloween and I wanted to be able to fit a coat under but it was still too huge on him.  Learning this in the store saved us a from a disappointed little boy.  Not to mention, we had a fun time checking out all the costumes, decorations, and accessories.

Spirit Halloween participates in the Spirit of Children program which focuses on creating a more welcoming, less scary environment for hospital stays for children and their parents.  Spirit Halloween’s goal this year is to raise $5 Million for the Spirit of Children bringing their grand total to over $16 Million since 2006.
