For the last two years, my daughters have asked Santa for eReaders. Santa hasn’t purchased them because he is fearful of placing technology in young kids’ hands. Yes, it can be educational, but it can also be dangerous. I fear the adult information they may have access to, I worry about them making purchases and I am concerned that they may post photos that I don’t wish for other to see.

Recently Santa discovered the iDeaPLAY children’s tablet. It is a fun, safe and educational tablet made just for children. iDeaPLAY tablet has an Android 4.2 operating system, 1 GB DDR3 Ram, 4GB Internal Storage, 7” display, WI-FI, and camera. It weighs .87 pounds. It can run up to 4 hours per battery charge. iDeaPLAY children’s tablet is equipped with USB, HDMI and MICROSD ports. It comes with an orange protective cover, ear buds, micro USB cable, and a power adapter. The orange protective bumper is made with food safe FDA Silicone. This makes it water resistant and drop resilient.

The iDeaPLAY children’s tablet is COPPA compliant. This means it is pre-programmed to follow the US Government’s children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act; ensuring the safety and privacy of children under 13 years of age. It also has parental controls and a kids’ mode. Parents get to choose the content they feel is appropriate for their children to see.

I have to admit, I don’t own a tablet. This was my first experience playing with a tablet. With that lack of experience, I had no idea what to expect. I was absolutely blown away (in a good way) with all the options on the iDeaPLAY children’s tablet and those available for us to add on. I spent about an hour researching (aka playing) Math Bugaboo, Rip Tide GP and My First Zoo.  I think I figured out how to add eBooks to the iDeaPLAY children’s tablet, but before I could do so, my husband took it from me so he play with it.

I am really impressed with the iDeaPLAY children’s tablet. I know I have just begun to see the potential in this tablet. I think it will be a fun and educational product for my girls to use. I don’t think it will be one of those technology based “toys” you buy one year and the next year they are completely obsolete. I think iDeaPLAY children’s tablet will be useful for years to come. For this reason, I think the iDeaPLAY children’s tablet makes a great holiday gift for boys and girls. . In fact, I am purchasing a second iDeaPLAY tablet when I do my Christmas shopping!
