Instant TV and movie streaming is definitely the new big thing, replacing video rental stores. However, many of the mainstream streaming sites don’t have a very big variety of movies and shows that they offer. If you know a big movie buff, they’ve probably gotten bored of the typical streaming sites. IndieFlix has lots of independent film titles to watch instantly online. They have films from worldwide film festivals, all at the click of your mouse! It’s a great choice for anyone that likes independent films, or is bored with the limited selection on other streaming sites.

I received a subscription to IndieFlix to review. Here is a screenshot of the interface:

IndieFlix has a lot to choose from, and it’s very easy to navigate. You can search by channel, some of which include, Comedy, Drama, Documentaries, Just for Kids, Short Films, Classic TV, and even a Cannes Film festival channel, and much more. You can also see Staff Picks, what’s trending on IndieFlix, what’s been recently added, or Discover, where you can see featured films and short films. And of course, you can also search through to find a specific film.

The instant streaming itself was really smooth. I didn’t have any trouble streaming films. I do, however, have a cable internet connection, so streaming tends to run pretty smoothly for me in general. There were quality options while streaming, so if you have a slower connection, you can set it to a lower quality and it will stream better, which is really nice. I streamed through my laptop, but you can also stream through a Roku device, or an Xbox 360.

Personally, I really liked the documentary selection. The more mainstream streaming sites really don’t have a good documentary selection, but Indieflix has a lot, and they add new content all the time.

Overall, I was really impressed with IndieFlix. I really liked the wide selection of independent films and short films, and even old television shows. I liked that it has content for both adults and children. As someone who recently got rid of my subscription to other streaming sites, because I got bored with the selection, it was really nice to see a site with a great selection of independent films that you just don’t find on other sites.
