Toys seem to be a pretty typical gift for the holidays. I recently discovered a company that is more than “just a toy.” MAGFORMERS products are magnetic construction sets that promote brain development through exploration and fun. MAGFORMERS has won multiple awards including the BEST TOY FOR KIDS Award in 2010 from Astra (American Specialty Toy Retailing Association) two years in a row and the The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award. The amazing magnetic design has endless possibilities and I was thrilled to partner for this review.
Facts and features that makes MAGFORMERS unique.
~MAGFORMERS uses neodymium, which are rare earth magnets. These are the strongest magnets in the world.
~The MAGFORMER patented design means the magnets are incapsulated inside the plastic which means they are free floating and can rotate. A connection is always made and the child will not get frustrated with any magnetic force rejection.
~MAGFORMERS has 14 geometric shapes, 9 colors and 65 total components.
~MAGFORMERS currently offers 25 different sets and a math activity book in their product line up.
~Fun and Educational
We decided to start with the Super MAGFORMERS 30 Piece Set since this would be our first experience with magnetic building toys and it looked to be the most basic. While the box says ages 6 and up, our 17 month old was easily able to join in on the fun. This set contains 12 super triangles and 18 super squares with a large mix of colors. Our kids dove right in. While our first creations were fairly basic, within about 1/2 hour, the kids were working together and building masterpieces. The pieces easily connected to each other and stayed connected. MAGFORMERS also included lots of ideas and designs on the box and in the included Idea Booklet. This set alone has brought hours upon hours of play. My husband thinks we should even get another so we can make even bigger creations!
The next set we received was the R/C Cruisers. This was the set our 6 year old son couldn’t wait to open but I”m glad we practiced with the Super MAGFORMERS set first. The R/C Cruisers set is geared for ages 6+ and I agree. The Idea Booklet was extremely helpful with this set because I’m not very creative. The kids were able to follow the instructions and made a dinosaur-mobile. Our 6 year old son was able to make a motorcycle on his own without any instructions. The R/C Cruisers set contains 52 pieces including motorized wheels. This set offers quite a bit of variety and imaginations can really take over but its definitely a higher skill level than the Super MAGFORMER set. While our 6 and 8 year old (and husband) enjoyed this set, it was a little too advanced for our 1 and 3 year old to actually build a vehicle, however, that did not stop them from enjoying it.
The last set I reviewed is the MAGFORMERS Wow Set. This is a 16 piece set geared for ages 3 and up. This is a great mini set but it only gives a small taste of the fun that MAGFORMERS delivers and will leave children and adults alike itching for more.
MAGFORMERS has really wowed our family and we have all been having a blast building with them. Not only have we been building with them, but we’ve also been creating art masterpieces since they stick to our door. With such an innovative product, the possibilities are endless! For a toy that will wow everyone, old and young, check out MAGFORMERS.

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.
