Books are one of my favorite items to gift to young boys and girls because they have so much to offer…they can inform, transcend, entertain, and encourage. Depending on who or what I am shopping for, I sometimes feel overwhelmed because of all the choices. I want guidance from someone who is “in the know”.
I recently discovered a unique online book store called WackaDoodle Books. WackaDoodle Books has a team of childhood educators and reading specialists, who review and recommend books. They rate books for the appropriate age, educational assessment and entertainment value. With this guidance, shoppers are better able to make an informed purchase.
For my review, WackaDoodle books sent me five Children’s books- Brady Need A Nightlight; If You Give a Mouse a Cookie; Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear; Kitten’s First Full Moon and Tumble Bumble. I also received their popular Squish! gift basket.
Brady Need A Nightlight is a sweet story about a bat that is afraid of the dark. The whimsical illustrations show little ones that there are simply new adventures to be had in the dark.
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie is a story about an obliging boy and a spirited mouse. Readers get a lesson on cause and effect…and a feel for what parents do.
Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear shows readers how friends can share so that we all win. This story is captivating and educational.
Kitten’s First Full Moon is a charming story about a kitten who longs for a bowl of milk. This is a great example of patience and persistence.
Tumble Bumble takes readers on an adventure when a bug sets out for a walk. Readers can count as new friends join the exciting parade.
These books were exactly what I was looking for in stories, lessons, themes and graphics. The girls love cuddling up and reading them.
WackaDoodle Books amazing gift baskets include books with fun activities and educational games in an attractive gift basket. WackaDoodle Books has gift baskets for a wide array of ages, events and even some for special needs. The Squish! basket I received includes 3 soft books and a terry cloth animal wash mitten displayed in a plastic basket. The books are fun and bath-proof. The basket is great for holding bath toys. The Squish! gift basket would be a great baby shower present or gift for an infant and toddler. My 1.5 year old niece is going to love her Squish! basket. She is just beginning to love books and already loves bath time so this gift will be perfect for her.
WackaDoodle Books also offers a book registry to help friends/family know which books to purchase for their young reader(s). The registry also allows teachers to recommend appropriate books for their students. There are many wonderful possibilities with a book registry!
Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
