Peeps

While I love homemade baked goods around the holidays, I rarely have the time and energy to put forward to make everything from scratch. That combined with the incredible deals that I can get on convenience cookies around the holidays, just makes convenience cookies too good of a deal to pass up. Yet, I want my treats to have a festive feel. After checking out a few of PEEPS yummy holiday themed treats (Ryan LOVED the sugar cookie PEEPS with chocolate bottoms!), it occurred to me that I could combine the rest with my cookies to make a quick and easy but festive cookie.

To make, you’ll need any type of convenience sugar cookie and frosting. You could also make homemade cookies and/or frosting if you prefer. You’ll also need some holiday themed PEEPS. I used Christmas colored peeps (though I don’t recommend the ones on sticks like I used as they have visible “puncture wounds” from being on a stick), peppermint flavored star PEEPS and gingerbread peeps.

Peepxmas

Bake your cookies and let them cool. Then frost them and stick a peep on the top of each cookie. We all loved the peppermint ones because the peppermint flavor is pretty strong and tastes so good combined with the frosting and sugar cookie. The other ones were yummy too though!
