*I was provided with a Canon PowerShot A2500 camera from RadioShack in return for this review. All opinions are my own.
Gadgets and gadget accessories are on my wish and Ryan’s wish list every year. It seems like children are getting tuned into technology earlier and earlier too. My 3 year old nephew asked for a tablet this year. Regardless of who you’re shopping for or what type of gadget you’re seeking, RadioShack is a great place to check out. They have cameras, cell phones, computers, tablets, TVs and more.
I was sent a Canon Powershot A2500 camera for review. This camera is currently listed for $79.99 on the RadioShack website. It has 16 megapixels and 5x optial zoom. Our place is surrounded by trees so although we have several windows, they don’t really let in much natural light. As a blogger, I take a lot of indoor photos of products for my product reviews so I need a camera that takes good low light photos. Unfortunately, I didn’t find that to be this camera as it takes grainy photos in low light but as I mentioned, being a blogger means I need more out of a camera than your average person. I think this camera would be perfect for a teenager or perhaps someone who isn’t very tech savvy but wants a digital camera.
It’s not a complex camera so it would be less intimidating for the non-tech savvy than other cameras. There aren’t many settings and its easy to just leave it on auto and go. It comes with a simple USB that you just plug in (no need to use a CD) and you can access your my computer area, find the drive that pops up and then pull your photos over. It’s really easy to figure out so I can see giving this to my mother in law or father in law and being able to show them the ropes within just a few minutes and then they’d be able to use it on their own without being intimidated.
I have another canon point and shoot and this camera is significantly lighter which is great for just throwing in your pocket or a purse. Part of it may have been my experience with another Canon point and shoot camera but I found it really easy to figure out the menus and settings (though most users probably wouldn’t care to mess with them).
Here are two outdoor photos to show the quality:
And two indoor photos to show the quality, but again, I don’t get much natural lighting in my home.
Check out RadioShack if you’re interested in picking up this camera or any other gadgets!

Thanks for the review. I am in the market for a new camera and this is helpful.

It looks like a cute little camera that can be snagged quickly and dropped in your pocket when you’re in a rush (which who isn’t these days). The pics turned out well too for you not having natural light! Thanks for sharing!

Looks like a great camera!
Thanks for sharing, our little guy is asking for a tablet of sorts, one I can download simple apps for him, I will be checking Radio Shack out this weekend. I like the size of this camera, small enough to tuck away in your pocket, and have great pictures at the same time and doesn’t break the bank.
