I am a bit of a picky drinker when it comes to alcoholic beverages. I like them to be “foofy” drinks, meaning I like them to be a bit sweet, perhaps fruity, and I don’t want to taste the alcohol. I also want them to be light on calories and low alcohol content. This combination was hard to find in prepared drinks, until Skinnygirl hit the market.

Skinnygirl offers a line of low-calorie alcoholic drinks. They have wine, vodkas, margaritas and mixed cocktails.

For my review I received Moscato wine, Mojito Cocktail, White Cherry Vodka and Sweet ‘n Tart Grapefruit Margarita.

Moscato wine just happens to be one of the two wines I like. It has a light sparkle with sweet flavors of pear, peach and mango. I was excited to try the Skinnygirl Moscato and compare it to the other Moscato wines I have had. Let me tell you, I didn’t miss a thing in the low-calorie wine. In fact, I prefer the Skinnygirl Moscato. Love, love, love!

Mojito Cocktail was new to me. I have never had a mojito. It has a citrus and mint flavor to it.  While the Skinnygirl Mojito tastes good, it was not my personal favorite. I will go back to the Moscato.

White Cherry Vodka has flavors of cherry and vanilla. It is slightly sweet without being over powering. White Cherry Vodka is great on the rocks or mixed into your favorite vodka cocktail.

I found a recipe on the Skinnygirl website that uses White Cherry Vodka; I thought is sounded like a festive holiday cocktail. (Recipe copied directly from Skinnygirl.com)

PRETTY POMEGRANATE FIZZ
INGREDIENTS:
1 part Skinnygirl™ White Cherry Vodka
4 parts sparkling water
Splash of all natural pomegranate juice

DIRECTIONS:
Combine vodka and sparkling water over ice. Finish with a splash of pomegranate juice.

Sweet ‘n Tart Grapefruit Margarita adds a tangy twist to the traditional margarita. It is citrusy and delicious. It can be served right out of the bottle, on the rocks, or the way I like my margaritas is blended with ice.

I have set aside the White Cherry Vodka and Sweet ‘n Tart Grapefruit Margarita for my mom’s Christmas gift. I think she will enjoy both Skinnygirl products. I can imagine her enjoying them while relaxing and getting some much needed R&R at her river house or sharing them with her ladies Bunco group.

I think Skinnygirl makes a great holiday gift and hostess gift. I know my mom is going to enjoy trying the White Cherry Vodka and Sweet ‘n Tart Grapefruit Margarita. I think it’s safe to say we will be purchasing more Skinnygirl products.
