*I was provided with dog bowls & a mat from JoJo Modern Pets. All opinions are my own.
My pugs are major lap dogs, they’d live on my lap all day long if they could. One day I was sitting on the couch and frank was on my lap and rolled over when I noticed that he had small red bumps under his chin. I had no idea if they were new or if they had been there for a while seems how they were under his chin I knew it was possible that I just never saw them before. They didn’t seem to cause him any pain and they didn’t look too irritated. Sorry, my camera didn’t pick up the redness very well for some reason.
I jumped online to see what I could find and it sounded like it was a really common problem for dogs called dog acne. We had an appointment to have the dogs’ nails trimmed so I brought it up to my vet and he said that he agreed that it was just dog acne which is caused by their pores getting clogged. A couple of days later Frank had two spots show up on his muzzle as well. He said it was most common when people use plastic dog bowls because they breed bacteria more than stainless steel or ceramic bowls. I was really good about always washing the dog bowls with soap and water each day so I knew that they weren’t staying dirty. I decided to try out a stainless steel bowl set and I loved the adorable sets at JoJo Modern Pets.
The name itself even appealed to me seems how we call my little sister Jorden, JoJo. They make stainless steel bowls in a variety of colors and they come with a coordinating feeding mat. We were sent the Safari Orange Dog Bowl Set which was perfect seems how one of my dogs is male and the other female. The feeding mats have a slight magnetic property to them and the bowls do too so while they don’t cling together like two strong magnets would, they have a tendency to want to stay together and are somewhat resistant of tipping over.
The bowls and mat can all be thrown into a dishwasher or washed with soap and water so they are really easy to care for. It was obvious to me that I would like the set but I was curious to see if it would get rid of Frank’s dog acne. After 5-6 days I noticed that his acne was smaller in size and not as bright red. Then we moved to our new apartment and I got busy but I noticed a few days ago (roughly 10-12 days after we started using the bowls) that his acne is completely healed. As advertised, I found that the bowls don’t tip over as much as our old bowls did. We didn’t have a feeding mat before so I’ve liked how it catches dribbles to keep our floor from getting wet and if kibble drops from the bowl it stays more contained also. Plus, the set is just so much nicer looking than our boring bowls that we had before.
