Here in Minnesota, the winters get long. By the end of January, I’m usually convinced that we will never see green grass and warm weather again. The fact that the subzero temperatures began in December and are still holding strong aids in the hopeless feelings. However, we found a company that sheds some brilliant sunshine on our cold winter days. Blast Zone has a wide range of inflatable products to suit the many different needs of their customers no matter what climate they live in. I was sent the Blast Zone SideKick Castle to facilitate this review.
The SideKick Castle Bounce House arrived on a beautiful sunny Saturday when the temps were hovering at zero and we were cooped up indoors again. As soon as lunch was over, I sent our 4 children out to the garage for the surprise. I was relatively surprised at how small a box the SideKick Castle came in. Upon opening, we discovered the storage bag and two single boxes. One contained the blower and the other contained the SideKick Castle. Blast Zone included stakes in each box as well.
Bounce Houses make a great activity because there is so little prep involved. Within 5 minutes of pulling our Blast Zone SideKick Castle out of the box, the kids were playing. While we had 4 little helpers spreading the Bounce House out, this is really a one person job. In fact, it’s so easy that our 8 year old could even do it herself. Once turning the blower on, the SideKick Castle was fully inflated in about 50 seconds. One thing to note. Blast Zone does not recommend using their Bounce Houses on a cement floor so we plan on investing in some of the foam play mats that snap together so we will have a nice cushion under ours.
The SideKick contains a 10 ft x 10 foot Bounce Area and an internal Ball Area of 7.5 ft x 3.5 ft. The bounce area comfortably holds 4 children while the ball pit is recommended for only 2. Our four children were able to easily bounce and have plenty of room to spare but, for a safety standpoint, I wouldn’t want any more than 4 because otherwise they will be bouncing into each other. The doorway has three velcro pieces that can be secured to provide a safer environment and prevent a child from falling out.
Not only is the Blast Zone SideKick Castle providing an outlet to all of our built up energy, bouncing is really great exercise for the kids. After our first jumping session, our 19 month old and 3 year old took the best naps ever! Inflatable Bouncers provide hours of entertainment and we have been spending time on it daily since it arrived. We’ve rented Bounce Houses in the past but, until recently, I had no idea how affordable they were to own. It makes much more since to invest in our own Bounce House and have it to use as often as we’d like than to rent one for 24 hours and then have to give it back. I could have purchased a couple inflatables by now had I checked into this sooner.
While we are really thrilled to have the SideKick Castle right now, I am especially excited that we will have it this Summer. Three of our kids have Summer birthdays and I can’t wait to bring out our Blast Zone SideKick Castle Inflatable instead of renting one again. Having our own inflatable will save me time, prep work, and money because I won’t have to plan so many small games and purchase little prizes. The inflatable will be much more enjoyable for the children and it will help them burn off energy. It’s definitely a win-win.
For those who live in a warmer climate or are looking for a Summer Fun inflatable, Blast Zone carries a line of Inflatable Water Parks. From Pirate or Crocodile Themes to Princess or Kingdoms, Blast Zone offers a break from the heat with their Water Park & Combos.
I also learned that Blast Zone offers Commercial Inflatables. The Commercial Line has a higher price point but is made entirely from high-tensile strength commercial grade vinyl and are built to withstand the rigors of commercial use. Their commercial line includes a fun variety of inflatables and Commercial Moonwalks.
We are really happy with the quality of our Blast Zone Sidekick Castle and it shipped quickly. If you are thinking about investing in an inflatable, be sure to check them out.

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

The water slide bounce houses would be a hit here in SoCal. I always see the dangerous spots on the news where the houses get taken by the wind but we don’t have too much weather here to contend with so it would be a great treat to have one instead of renting all the time. Great that you can try it out in the garage too!
Looks like fun, i love bouncing with the kiddies
