Babies spend so much time sleeping! As a parent, I always look for comfortable clothes for my little one to sleep in. I look for the softest and more comfortable pjs for me so there’s no reason not to do the same for babies, right? My recommendation is to stay away from clothes that have ribbons and bows, pockets, and all kinds of appliqués everywhere. Instead, look for soft fabrics and beautiful prints. When it comes to sleepwear, less is definitely more.

I actually have one brand to recommend to you: Oemi Baby. It’s a Canadian company that makes gorgeous sleepers, blankets and high-quality leather diaper bags. I received both a sleeper and a blanket from them and I love them!

Signature Sleepers come in 4 cute prints: Foster Elephant (cream background color), Sea Turtles (eggplant background color), Sea Stars (also cream background color), Bare Trees (blue background color). They are made of 100% soft durable cotton. I like that it has a zipper instead of snaps. I find it easier and faster to change my daughter compared to when she’s wearing a sleeper with snaps. It also makes a big different in the middle of the night when you don’t want to deal with what seems like a hundred little snaps in the dark! Also, with ease of use and safety in mind, all Oemi Baby sleeper zippers are lined from top to bottom so they’ll never touch baby’s skin. There is also a zipper cover at the top to prevent the zipper from digging into baby’s neck or chafing baby’s skin. They are really nice features and as a mom, I really appreciate such thoughtful design.

The Signature Sleeper I received is the Foster Elephant one. I like the understated color combination of creams and brown. It’s also gender neutral so it would be a great present for a mom-to-be who didn’t find out the gender of her baby. The fabric is extremely soft and washes very well so far. In terms of fit, it is snug so you might want to order a size up. For example, my daughter is about 14 lbs and I ended up getting a size 9 month. It fits her nicely but when I compare it with our other sleepers, it is approximately the same size as our 6 month sleepers. Here are the size recommendations: 3 months for babies 6-10 lbs,  6 months for babies 10-15lbs, 9 months for babies 15-20 lbs, and 12 months 20-25lbs.

I also received a Giving Blanket. Why call a blanket a ‘giving’ blanket? Simply because Oemi Baby will donate $1.00 of every blanket sold to charity. Isn’t that a great idea? Giving Blankets come in 5 colors: Warm White, Cotton Cream, Happy Turquoise, Pink Power, and Eggplant. They can be purchased individually or in a pack of 2. They are made of 100% organic French Terry Cotton which gives them a nice soft and slightly thicker texture than other cotton blankets. It is generously sized and measures 38.5” by 37”. This means it is easily large enough to swaddle a baby and it can also be used with toddlers.

The Giving Blanket I received is eggplant. It is a very deep purple, as dark as navy. It’s a very popular and trendy color lately and I’m glad it hasn’t faded in the wash. Since these blankets are not pre-washed, a little shrinkage is to be expected but it wasn’t anything major. I like to use this blanket for nap time but I also bring it along when we are out and about. It’s perfect in the stroller when the girls fall asleep or when it’s a little breezy outside. Because it’s thicker than other blankets, it’s also great to add a little comfort if you want to lay baby down.
