I received products from Gallo Family Vineyards for my review. All opinions are my own.
As you can tell from the name…Gallo Family Vineyards is family owned and operated and has been that way since 1933. A company doesn’t stay in business for 80 years, and involve 4 generations, without having a quality product and great customer service.
For my review, I received three varieties of Gallo Family wine: the Moscato-Western Cape, Pink Moscato-Argentina and Red Moscato-Argentina. These Moscato wines are all extremely light, delicate and very refreshing. Were it not for the alcohol content, I would enjoy an entire pitcher by myself instead of just an occasional glass during the evening.
The Moscato-Western Cape is a white wine. This variety captures the flavor of citrus, honey and peaches. The flavors are subtle yet definitely noticeable, which is exactly how I prefer my wine. Gallo’s Red Moscato-Argentina also tastes of citrus and peach but adds the beautiful color and taste of red berries. Again, the flavors can all be identified but none of them is overpowering. As with the other varieties of Moscato, the Pink Moscato-Argentina has citrus and peach flavors as well as red berries AND orange blossoms. What can I say about this amazing blend other than it is absolutely delicious.
These wines are sweet but not overly so. …and I can’t stress how light they all are. If you enjoy a full-bodied wine or a dry wine, these might not be your “cup of tea” (but I’m sure Gallo has a variety that would be something you would enjoy) but for me and my fondness for a light-bodied, dessert or after dinner drink (or something you might enjoy with an appetizer or light afternoon lunch) these subtle flavors are perfect especially when chilled.
You can find see all of the other wines Gallo Family Vineyards have to offer on their website. You may also connect with them on facebook and twitter.
Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

We don’t drink alcohol, but the bottles are pretty. And it’s great it’s a family owned business!

What does one cork this tall bottle with to keep in the refrigerator which is just not large enough for the large bottle? I have to put it sideways as I do not always use the whole bottle unless I have a lot of guest.
