I received products from Guillow for my review. All opinions are my own.

One afternoon on a weekend FULL of yard work and chores, I surprised my daughters and husband with a box of Guillow Foam Gliders, Balsa Gliders and Balsa Motor Planes. I knew my husband would remember playing with similar aircraft products as a young child. He confirmed that indeed he did have similar products as a youngster and remembered them fondly. My daughters on the other hand, didn’t have much, if any, experience with such aircraft.

Inside the box were three Foam Gliders– Sky Raider, Space Shuttle and Delta Dart. We also received four Balsa Gliders & Balsa Motor Planes– Eagle, Jetfire, Sky Streak and Jetstream. Guillow’s aircraft are constructed with durable materials.  Each kit comes with step-by-step assembly instructions. Some kits also come with colorful decals for you to personalize your aircraft.

We decided to start with the Foam Gliders. We figured they would be the most durable aircraft for our daughters to get the feel of flying such light aircraft. They were excited to put the planes together and decorate them…at least with our girls they referred to it as decorating. Lol. Once they were done putting them together, than ran outside to fly their aircraft.

It took a few tries for them to figure it out, but then they had a lot of fun. This was the perfect way to relieve some stress and end the weekend with fun!

A couple weekends later, we tried the Balsa aircraft. I know how delicate Balsa wood can be so, I decided to assemble the aircraft for my daughters. Everything went together really well and quite easily. The girls and I decided to take the planes to the park so we could have more room to fly.

The girls and I had a lot of fun flying the planes. They especially enjoyed moving the wings to get the planes to do tricks in the air. They couldn’t wait to show their dad what they had discovered.

All of the products above are for ages eight and up. However, with some help from parents (assembly etc.),  younger children can also enjoy them. Our almost 5 and 7 year old daughters certainly have enjoyed playing with their aircraft.
