This is a Fashionista Event and a promotional item was provided to me by Coupons.com. Hosts for this event are Still Blonde after all these Years and ModlyChic.
My family got our first computer when I was about eight years old. At first, it was so fun and exciting. Yet, just a few months later the computer had slowed down significantly. We would wait around for minutes for pages to load. My mom had to take the computer to a repair shop who removed some viruses. The computer worked great again for a couple of months, and then slowed down again. We tried some anti-virus programs but we would end up getting viruses anyway. The cycle just continued for a while until my aunt told my mom that she used a program called Norton that worked really well at protecting her computer. My mom ran out to buy the program and we really did see an improvement over the other programs that we had tried.
As a kid, I never really understood what “viruses” or “bugs” or “worms” that everyone talked about, really were. In fact, I think a lot of adults don’t really even understand what they really are. As a teenager, I thought that as long as I avoided downloading harmful files, I wouldn’t have any problems. I later learned that its possible to download a legitimate file, and a harmful file will secretly be attached to it. Eventually I realized that no matter how safe I try to be online, I could still end up having my computer harmed. I decided I didn’t want to take the risk anymore, so I started using Norton By Symantec because it worked well for my family when I was a kid. Norton By Symantec protects my computer from viruses, spam, identity theft and other threats.
I sometimes let Drew get on my computer to play games or watch YouTube videos. I try to stay right with him as much as possible, but with Kelsie around (she is 12 months) I sometimes am forced to step away for a second. While he doesn’t intentionally download harmful files, he isn’t a pro at controlling the mouse quite yet and sometimes accidentally clicks on things by accident. It’s such a relief to know that my computer is protected, even if he accidentally clicks on something harmful.
I like how Norton By Symantec program automatically updates, so I don’t have to update the program myself. If they find out about a new type of threat, they automatically update my program so that it protects me from the new threat. I don’t even realize that an update has taken place because I don’t have to do anything at all.
Right now, Coupons.com is running a sale on Norton By Symantec that saves you $40 on the 2014 version of the program. This makes the program $49.99 after the offer – cheaper than a single visit to my local computer repair shop.

I just go with what my laptop has and it’s been fine. I did try Norton years ago but I’ve never had any problem with viruses. I keep up to date on my computer checks though too.
I need a new virus protection update. I use a free program (AVG) that catches most of the issues, but I still have to download free trials for Norton to clean up the registry errors. If I had the cash I would buy this because everyone knows Norton is #1.
