If I were to sit and dream up the ultimate dog chews for my pugs Frank and Beans, the list of features would be something like this:

  • Fully Digestible (no rawhide!)
  • Something both pugs would love
  • Long lasting
  • No splintering (so no small or weak bones)
  • All natural, no unnatural additives or preservatives
  • No corn
  • No by-products

I And Love And You is a brand whose chews meet all of these hopes & dreams that I have for my dogs’ chews and MORE. The additional features:

  • No Soy.
  • No un-named meats.
  • Avoids genetically modified ingredients whenever possible.
  • Uses wild, grass-fed, free range, non-caged meats that are grown without growth hormones or antibiotics whenever possible.
  • Produces their nutritional supplements in FDA registered human-grade facilities.
  • Creates their food & treats in USDA inspected facilities.
  • Only minimally processes ingredients to preserve the natural nutrients.

Wow! Isn’t that an impressive list? I’ve started to hear people talk about wanting grass-fed, free range meats for the food on their own plates but it still seems like a fairly new concept for people. So the fact that I And Love And You is staying right there on the edge of innovation, making products that are just as high quality for pets as we would like to have for ourselves is awesome. I think it really shows how dedicated they are to pets in general but also to creating the highest quality food, treats and chews that they can.

Frank & Beans have tried a lot of chews in the 10.5 months since I adopted them, but this was our first time with grass-feed, antibiotic & growth hormone free ones. The treats look quite similar to the rest that we have tried, but there is a bit more variation in size and shape. I assume this is a result of the being less-processed.

i and love and you cow ears bag

The bag of cow ears that we got was really big, one of the cow ears was MASSIVE. Even the smaller ones are quite big and it’s funny to watch my 20lb pug carry them around. My dogs are older (9 and 10 years old) and not the most aggressive chewers. They are anxious dogs and we use chews as a method for helping them cope with anxiety. Yet, they seem to last much longer than other ears that we have purchased before. In the past, cow-ears have always been a treat that my dogs would eat in a single setting if I allowed them to. With these, they chewed for 20+ minutes and 3/4 of the ear was still intact and then they left them lay around for a couple of days before beginning to chew again. I love long-lasting chews like this because we get more for the price if they can use them longer. Amazon has these 5 packs listed for $12.19 with $5.95 shipping so $18.14 total. This works out to about $3.60 per ear which I think is really reasonable considering how big they are and how long they have lasted my pugs. I plan to purchase these on occasion to help change up our chew variety as my dogs tend to get bored if I give them the same thing all the time.

i and love and you pet 6" bully sticks

The Grass fed bully sticks that we got varied in size a little bit but compared to other brands, they were all medium to thick in size, I wouldn’t consider any of them thin. A couple were extra thick in parts. In our experience with bully sticks, there is a huge range for how long they last depending on the brand and type. Some bully sticks my dogs literally chew through in 5 minutes (very thin ones) and others will lay around for a few days before they finish them. We found I and Love And You’s Free Range Bully Sticks to be very long-lasting. My dogs didn’t finish these bully sticks in a single setting, but were able to finish them in two or three long chew sessions. I would say they probably lasted for about an hour and a half to two hours of total chew time. They are much less stinky than other bully’s that we have tried but they do have some odor. The 5 packs retail for about $19.99 so that works out to roughly $5 per stick.

I and love and you venison jerky

The I and Love And You Venison Jerky that we were sent surprised and excited me. My dogs love any form of jerky treats but usually jerky comes in BIG pieces. Aside from chews, I don’t really give my dog big treats. Instead we use treats when they come in from going potty or do something good, to encourage a new pattern of behavior. For instances like that, I want little pieces which is exactly what the Venison Jerky from I & Love & You is. Most of the pieces were about half an inch long and really thin though there were some odd pieces that were slightly larger or smaller. It’s a dry, non-greasy jerky that is really easy to split into pieces. We had never tried venison-based treats of any kind and my dogs just went nuts over this. Frank in particular clearly found this to be a high-value treat. The 4oz bag sells for roughly $9.99.

i and love and you nothin but chicken

The last product from I And Love And You that we got was a bag of nothin’ but chicken. Just like the name suggests, these are 100% chicken treats that are freeze-dried. My dog Beans just LOVES chicken so these make the perfect high-value treat for her. If you’ve tried freeze-dried treats before, you know that they can be really smelly and crumbly. I was really impressed with how little “dust” was in the bottom of the bag when we finished it. The treats come in a range of sizes but they are incredibly easy to break in half. The 2.5oz bag is $14.99. Don’t let the weight of the bag confuse you, though as freeze-dried treats are very lightweight.

My dogs loved all four products from I and Love and You. I love their dedication to creating extremely high quality products for dogs. I really can’t think of anything I would even improve about any of these items. I And Love And You makes other treats and foods for both cats and dogs. They even make raw food for pets! If you’re careful about what you feed your pets be sure to check them out.
