I’ve always been picky about my clothing. I remember my mom and sister dreading shopping with me when I was little because I was so selective about what I wanted to wear. I don’t like writing on my clothing, I tend to stick to a few colors for my tops (black, red, purple, gray and brown). If I wear other colors, I look for gentle, calm versions of the color. I don’t want my clothing to be too plain or too attention grabbing. I don’t want to feel like I am “hanging out” of my clothing, but I don’t want my clothing to be too loose. I am pear-shaped, so in order to prevent my overall appearance from seeming “bottom heavy” I need my tops to show my shape a little bit – loose tops make me lose my shape all-together.
Yes, I am picky. So, the fact that I have found two tops from Ami Club Wear that have both made it into my summer favorites this year is really impressive. I don’t ever go dancing or clubbing, Ami Club Wear has a lot of clothing that isn’t revealing at all and would look great in any social setting. Their clothing is designed to flatter your body shape which I think is why I was successful at finding two favorites. As I mentioned, I like my tops to be comfortably lose while still being tight enough to show my shape a little. This is the case with both of the tops that I was sent for review.
The first top is the Black Sleeveless Lace Decor Casual Top. It is 100% cotton making it a great, breathable fabric for summer. It’s primarily just a plain black tank top but it hugs my waist and chest a little giving it a feminine fit. The shoulder straps are black lace (but very soft, not itchy at all) and they criss-cross in the back. There are three buttons that run down the center to give the appearance of a button-up and there are two buttons that look like they hold the straps in place. I love the little details of this top because they keep it from looking too plain while the tank has a really simple, comfortable fit. I will definitely be wearing this tank top a ton this summer, it’s a new favorite. It’s just $13.99.

The second top is the Black White Polka-Dot Print Top which is 100% polyester and super breathable. It is slightly see through so I wear it with a thin camisole underneath and it’s so light and airy that it just feels like I have the camisole on. The top is designed to be a bit over-sized and flowy, it does a great job of minimizing the belly or muffin top area. Yet, it is a scoop-neck that has slight overlapping detail around the neckline that still gives me that overall feminine shape that I want to achieve. While it’s a pretty simple fit, the print on it is something I haven’t seen before so it doesn’t feel plain at all. It’s incredibly comfortable and I think it fits really well too, so it is another favorite of mine for this summer that I will be wearing over and over. It’s just $9.99 so both tops are really affordable.
I am so excited to have added both of these tops to my wardrobe for this summer. After having such great luck finding shirts that fit me great while matching my personal style and budget, I plan to go back to Ami Club Wear to do more shopping in the future.
