Thank you to Casio for providing me with product, free of charge, for review. All opinions are my own.
I feel that music is such an important part of life. It can be a great tool for relaxation and enjoyment or a way to share fear or grief. I’ve even read that music can be a mood booster and can help the brain retain information. Because of all the benefits that I believe music offers, our kids take lessons. Our oldest is 9 and she takes piano and violin lessons. Our son is 7 and he takes piano and we are on the search for a guitar teacher for him as well. Our other two children are currently (almost) 4 and 2 so they have not yet started anything but we do plan on getting them going with piano lessons by about 4 1/2. Then, once they get the hang of that first instrument and have learned to read music, they can choose a second instrument if they’d like and we will strive to find them a teacher. Since I feel music is so important, I was thrilled to partner with Casio, who is well-known for their quality products.
I was sent the Casio CTK-24oo Digital Keyboard for review. This Keyboard has a variety of features including:
~Built In Microphone
~150 Rhythms
~Step Up Learning System
~110 Pre-programmed Songs
~Sound EFX Sampler
~Metronome
~61 Keys
~AC Adapter Or Battery Powered
~Auto Shut Off
The portability that the Casio CTK-2400 Digital Keyboard offers will be great for the upcoming holidays because the kids love to perform for family but nobody else has a piano. The only thing I can think of that would be a nice improvement would be to have a solid back music stand/holder as opposed to the single rod because some pieces of music and books are not sturdy enough to stay standing nicely on it. A more supportive stand would solve that problem without adding too much bulk to this unit.
We have been having a great time exploring all that the Casio CTK-2400 has to offer. The kids love hearing the different sounds that can be made as well as listening to the pre-programmed songs. We are still experimenting with all it has to offer but I really like the metronome feature as it keeps our older two kids at the same tempo throughout an entire song when they play. The CTK-2400 delivers a great sound for the compact design and the adapter makes it perfect so we’re not always replacing batteries.
The kids have also really been enjoying the Long-Sampling and Short-Sampling modes too. They especially love using the Short-Sampling Mode to record noises/sounds and then have them sound back as they play afterwards. Below, you can hear some of our son’s creations. He has a mixture of barking, mooing, and meowing going on using the Short-Sampling Mode.

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.
