Thank you to Holland House for providing me with product, free of charge, for review. All opinions are my own.
Even though Summer is nearing an end, the grilling season still has plenty of time left. Now that we have a grill, I think we’ll actually use it through the Winter even. Holland House has some grilling tips they wanted to share:
Grilling & Marinating Tips:
~ Meat Marinating: The act of marinating your meat can add flavor and tenderize cuts. Even a cheaper meat can be made into a masterpiece with the right marinade.
~Choose Marinading Elements: While marinades can vary, they typically contain three basic components: Oils, Acids and Seasonings. The Oils can help prevent drying out and help lock in flavor.
~Allow Enough Time To Fully Marinate: Smaller cuts or chicken typically require 2-4 hours of marinating for optimal taste while larger and tougher cuts need typically need 4-6 hours.
~Flavors: Marinating in glass is my top choice because metals in some cookware will react with the acids and salts, giving an off flavor to meats.
~Tools: Using tongs to turn the meat is better than a fork to avoid punch holes that will allow juice and flavor to escape.
~No Rushing: Meat will be ready to flip after a good searing which results in the meat releasing from the grill.
Holland House offers a variety of Cooking Wines and Premium Vinegars to add some flavor and life to cooking and grilling. One of my best friends passed on a recipe for Homemade Chicken Alfredo Italian Creamed Chicken that she got from her Aunt. The joke between my husband and I was that I’m afraid of Chicken “Al FRAID-O” because of the bad experience I had in a restaurant one time. The food was so terrible that even my husband couldn’t eat it! However, this recipe earns smiles and requests for seconds every time I make it.
Chicken Alfredo Italian Creamed Chicken
~3 Raw Chicken Breasts (cut into bite sized pieces or strips)
~1/4 cup Butter, Softened
~1-8 Ounce Package Cream Cheese, Softened
~1 Can Cream Of Chicken Soup (or Heavy Cream for THM plan)
~1 Package Good Seasons Italian Dressing Mix, Dry (I usually don’t use quite the whole package because it could taste a little strong.)
~1/2 cup Holland House Dry White Cooking Wine
Place chicken in bottom of baking dish. Top chicken with remaining ingredients. Bake at 375 degrees for one to one and a half hours, stirring occasionally. Serve over hot linguini, spaghetti, or other noodle of preference (plan approved Dreamfields pasta for THM’ers). I like to serve with a salad and green beans.

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

I love this contest & I would love to win it in.I would learn to grill out finally with this..
I generally like to use the same wines we will be drinking with the meal as whatever wine is called for in a recipe… That said a bottle of Holland House Marsala Cooking Wine would be a very welcome (and frequently used!) addition.
I would also love to have a bottle of their Champagne Vinegar and their new Italian Herb Red Wine Vinegar!
