Thank you to Philips AVENT for providing me with product, free of charge, for review. All opinions are my own.
I received a Philips AVENT Natural Drinking Cup and Philips AVENT Spout Cups Set for review for our 2 year old. While he can and does drink from adult glasses from time to time, typically at meals, I still use spout cups for when we are out and about or if he wants to carry a cup around the house. All four of our children also enjoy bringing a cup of water to bed each night too.
The new Philips AVENT Spout Cups are available in a variety of sizes. I received the smallest, 7 ounce, size. The cups come with a built in flip top lid and have a measurement guide on the side. Since these cups are geared for ages 6 months and up, the measurement guide would be great for mixing and serving formula or breast milk directly in the cup or just keeping track of how many ounces the child is drinking. This is the first time I have ever seen a sippy cup with a built in/attached cover. All of our kids love it because it keeps the drinking area clean when we are outside or on the go. Even our recently turned two year old was able to open and close the cover himself which makes it extra convenient for me. The soft spouts and built in handles are perfect for new cup drinkers and still work well as the child grows. We really like these cups.
The Philips AVENT Natural Drinking Cup was completely new to me since I have never seen this concept before. It’s geared for ages 12 months and up and can be used to teach a child how to drink from a regular cup. This cup contains no spout, no straw, and no specific drinking area. The child has a 360 degree access around the rim to drink from. Just tip the cup up and the child’s lip gently pushes against the top which releases the beverage inside at a drinkable pace. The handles are built into the cover of the cup but my kids like handles so we find that to be a positive feature. This cup also comes with a hygiene lid but it is not attached. The only downside to that is we will probably misplace it but at least it won’t effect the use of the cup. Overall, the Philips AVENT Natural Drinking Cup is another hit with my family.
