A little over a year ago I wrote a Republic Wireless Review. In it I discussed how Republic Wireless offers cell phone plans for as low as $5 a month that include great coverage. In the past, when considering a new phone service, I was always worried about coverage. If you’re considering switching to Republic Wireless, it’s important to understand that they use the same towers that Spring uses. If your area has decent coverage by Sprint, you’ll have good coverage with Republic Wireless as well. Plus, if you find a spot in your area without strong coverage using the Spring towers, you can use Republic Wireless wherever you have WiFi connection. For me, this meant that I never was without service in my area despite living in a rural area. I was really impressed with the coverage and their plans are really reasonable. If you want to just rely on WiFi, you can get Republic Wireless for $5 a month. For $10 a month, you get unlimited WiFi use and cell (talk and text) service. If you want unlimited 3G data while not on WiFi, that’s just $25 a month. If you need 4G data while not in WiFi range, your plan is still just $40 a month. Check out the Republic Wireless Plans page for more info.
Since I wrote my review about 15 months ago, Republic Wireless has updated with two phone options. The Moto X is the newest option which sells for $299, it comes with 16G of storage, is a powerful, responsive phone that has gotten positive reviews from sources like this quote from Tech Radar –
“With its swoopy, curvy looks, the Moto X has a thoughtful design both inside and out that is full of charm and power, backed up by great software that is let down only by its endurance and camera.”
If you want to try out using a Chromecast, enter below for your chance to be one of TWO winners who will each get a Chromecast thanks to Republic Wireless. Giveaway is open to the US and will end 8/25/2014 at 11:59pm EST.
