My daughters and I start thinking about Halloween costumes around August/September. I was not surprised at all when my youngest exclaimed she wanted to be Elsa from the HUGE Disney hit move, Frozen. My oldest is getting to the age where she is stepping outside the princess box. She wants to wear more mature (still age appropriate) costumes. She started off by saying she wanted to be a zombie, then it was Merida from Disney’s movie Brave, then she switched to a ninja with her cousin…but something still wasn’t quite right for her. After looking through all of the kids’ costumes at BuyCostumes.com, she FINALLY decided to be Spider man. I pointed out they had a Spider girl costume but she wasn’t interested. I had to ask her why she didn’t like the Spider girl costume; she said “The model for Spider girl doesn’t look like she is taking her job serious enough.” Lol. So, this year I have Elsa and Spider man!

Our costumes arrived quickly. The girls were really excited to try on their character costumes and see how they looked. I always order a size larger than what I probably need because we layer clothing on underneath our costumes. Plus in getting a larger size, the girls can use their costumes as dress-up long after Halloween.

The only defect I noticed was that Elsa tiara had come unglued. This was an easy fix with a hot glue gun.

The girls are so excited for Halloween. In our area, the businesses have a special trick or treat even for the kids. On the Saturday before Halloween, all of the downtown businesses dress-up and hand out candy for the kids. It is a win/win. The kids have a blast and the adults can get in some quick shopping while the kids are entertained. I have taken my girls to this event pretty much every year and I participated in this when I was a little girl. It is a fun family tradition.
