Thank you Nuna Canada
for providing me with products to review, free of charge.
These are my own honest opinions.
Most new parents are familiar with Nuna and its products. Nuna’s mission is to provide new parents with products that allow them to enjoy their new role. They have a different design mentality and it really shows in each and every product. They believe that less is more, they believe that quality craftsmanship is a must but won’t compromise on looks. Nuna decided to focus on the basics: eating, napping, hanging out, and traveling.
Nuna is also proudly green. Their products are makde in an eco-friendly factory and they use organic fabrics. For example, the insert of the LEAF is made of GOTS certified textile so the fibers that touch baby’s delicate skin are organic and natural. The foam and filling are also certified free of harmful substances.
For this review, I received the popular LEAF, a rocking baby seat, and the ZAAZ, a pneumatic high chair.
The name of the LEAF reflects the inspiration behind the design which was to re-create the gentle movement of a leaf on a breeze. I was amazed by how gently it glides. It can actually continue to rock for a couple minutes after a single gentle push and is 100% quiet. My daugther is actually able to set it in motion by turning her head or moving her arms or legs. It is also possible to lock it in place if you prefer.
The LEAF provides a comfortable space for baby but it is actually a product that you’ll keep around way past baby’s first months. It is in fact designed to withstand up to 130lbs so even as a toddler and a child, your little one can continue to enjoy her serene seat. At the moment, both my daugthers share it. They both like to sit in it to read books or play with their stuffed animals. With the comfortable padded insert and reclined position, it’s their little nest to relax.
The LEAF is offered in Canada in 4 colors: Twilight (black + natural), Bisque (white + beige), Dawn (blue and gray) and Navy (navy blue and light gray). I like that they stayed away for the typical ‘baby’ colors so the LEAF has a contemporary flair that looks great in any living room or bedroom. It’s also super easy to assemble and disassemble if you want to store it or bring it along.
I absolutely love the LEAF! It’s a simple yet totally functional product. It totally fits with our style and our lifestyle. My daughters use it every single day and I’m sure they will continue to do so for a very long time.
The ZAAZ is a beautiful and clever high chair. It is designed to grow with baby and can even be used by adults (up to 220lbs)! It is a pneumatic high chair which means there is a hidden lift which gently moves the seat up or down to accomodate the height of your table. It’s a great way to get baby to join in the action aroud mealtime.
Just like all other Nuna products, the ZAAZ is designed to be both comfortable and safe. For little ones, there is a 5-point safety harness which can be converted into a 3-point harness and eventually removed for older children and adults. The air-foam cushion is totally unique and provide comfort for young and old. The seat is in one piece so clean up is fairly easy. The one aspect I don’t find as practical is the tray. It clips on the arm bar which is fine but the tray can’t be adjusted to be closer or father from baby. The result is that the tray is a few inches away from my little one and crumbs and bits of food find their way on the seat, especially around the part where the arm bar clicks in the seat. This may not be a problem if your baby is bigger or if your baby isn’t a messy eater like mine. Either way, this problem will eventually disappear because in a little while, we’ll remove the tray to have her sit at the table with us.
Just like the LEAF, the ZAAZ has a distinctively European design with the sleek legs and textured seat cushion. The tray and arm bar are made of BPA, PVC and dehp-free plastic and are dishwasher safe. The end result is a beautiful piece of modern furniture, not simply a high chair that sticks out like a sore thumb.
The ZAAZ is such a great high chair. It has many innovative features including the pneumatic lift and air-foam cushion. I really like how it enables parents to include their little ones at the table. The fact that it’s designed to grow with baby also make it way more fonctional and versatile than most high chairs.
Tell me: d0 you own a Nuna product? Which one would you like to try?
