*Berkshire Blanket sent product samples for my review. All opinions are my own.
Berkshire Blanket specializes in high quality bedding related items. I was a “blanket baby” as a child and have never outgrown my love for blankets and throws. Each year I seem to purchase at least a couple of new throws or blankets so our stash has gotten pretty big. I had a Berkshire Blanket throw that was one of my favorites because it’s really soft but it doesn’t cause me to overheat. It’s longer than most of our other throws so I can easily use it to nap with without risk of my feet coming out the ends.
Our sheet sets were getting pretty outdated so I decided that I was interested in getting a new sheet set for Ryan & I this Christmas as a mutual gift. We just had plain cotton sheets. I looked over the sheet options at Berkshire Blanket and was surprised to see so many fleece and microfleece sheet sets. I had never experienced microfleece sheets. I have a tendency to get cold easily while Ryan easily gets uncomfortably warm at night. I decided that the Lightweight Microfleece Sheets would be a good compromise for us.
They are made out of a thinner fabric than traditional microfleece sheets so they are more breathable. My hope was that they would keep me a bit warmer than our traditional cotton sheets but wouldn’t be so warm that they would make Ryan overheat. We’ve both really enjoyed this sheet set and they’ve done a great job at keeping both Ryan & I at a comfortable temperature at night. Ryan isn’t one to often comment about products in our home, yet he has commented about the microfleece pillow cases twice so I know he has truly been impressed with them. He likes how they are as soft as a fleece throw blanket but he can enjoy the softness of the fabric without having to bring a blanket up around his face and neck which would likely make him overheat.
*The wrinkles/ripples in the fabric are not a defect in the product. The sheets are not too big for my bed, either. I just didn’t have the sheets pulled tightly enough around my mattress. My bed is older and has gotten thinner over time so my guess is that it wouldn’t happen at all on older beds but I can easily correct it even on my old, flat bed.
I’ve been known to sleep with a fleece throw blanket of my own in addition to our shared bedding, so I really enjoy having the microfleece pillowcases as an alternative to cuddling up with a fleece blanket on my face as well. The set has quickly become our favorite sheet set and I’ve already found myself wanting a second set as back-up while our current set is in the wash! The fitted sheet stays in place on our bed really nicely, I think at least in part because the elastic isn’t just in the four corners like our other sheet sets.
I also decided to check out the baby blanket section. I have a soft-spot for buying little ones blankets and although my family has LOTS of kids, only a few of them have been blanket lovers. Kelsie (1.5) is the first of my nieces and nephews to particularly take to blankets in several years so I have purchased her several in her short life. I have swaddle blankets that I keep here for her to nap with when I watch her, but I wanted a warmer blanket for her to use here during the winter.
Kelsie loves to touch anything soft and silky – she’ll still play with tags on blankets or stuffed animals if they are smooth to the touch. Naturally, blankets with satin edges top her list of favorites so I started out seeking a satin-edge blanket. I came across the Forever Safe Baby Blanket and thought it would be perfect. The main blanket is fleece while the edges are satin. There is X-STATIC pure silver stripes inside of the blanket. Silver is naturally antimicrobial so having silver in the blanket helps prevent the growth of microbes and bacteria. Kelsie gets sick easily and often gets sweaty while asleep so her blankets absorb that moisture. While I try to make sure that the bedding she uses here gets washed really regularly, I love having the added safety of knowing that the blanket is antimicrobial as well. At 30×40 inches it’s a great size for her to cuddle up and nap with. This blanket is also available in a slightly larger size for toddlers. They are currently a little more than half off the regular price as well – sale runs through December 15!
Win it: Berkshire Blanket has generously offered a giveaway with two winners. The two prizes are the same items that I reviewed – the lightweight microfiber sheet set (in your choice of size) and the forever safe fleece baby blanket. The first winner drawn will get to choose which prize they would like and the second winner will get the remaining prize.

I always had flannel sheets for colder weather, until I tried microfleece and really liked the warmth. I’ll be getting another set of these.

Such informative and useful content I got today from your blog. You are providing proper in-depth information regarding the microfleece sheet set.
why do i have an incredible amount of dustbunnies and over a full inch of lint in the lintcatcher of my dryer? i also have over a thousand pieces of small microfleece all over my home in about three weeks and four washings? this is very annoying, i feel like slapping somebody, either myself or one of your representatives.
