Thank you to Radison Blu for providing us with accommodations, free of charge, for review. All opinions are my own.
Each year, we try to make time to visit the Mall of America. It’s truly a great Minnesota attraction and definitely has something for everyone. Most years, we run ourselves ragged the entire day and then head home weary and exhausted when the mall closes down. This year was different. We stayed at the Radisson BLU Mall of America. From the minute we stepped foot into the hotel, we were in awe. Not only do they offer sophisticated style, elegant decor, and premium comfort, the Radisson BLU Mall of America is actually attached to the Mall of America!
We came down early to hit the mall before checking in. At about 2 pm, we decided to start making our way over to the hotel to see if we could do the early check in. Best part: We never had to step foot outside! Being a bitter cold day hovering around zero, this was awesome! Upon entering the lobby, our kids were in awe. The front wall is covered in glass windows and mirrors and also has a revolving front entrance. The lobby was warm and welcoming with a fire blazing along the side wall and a fun unique seating assortment. Check in was a breeze. It literally took seconds. The fact that they had three employees tending the lobby was great. No waiting which is always a bonus with five kiddos in tow.
Next, we took the elevator up to our suite. I was amazed at the technology we discovered along the way. The elevator is run by the room keys. I simply swiped the key in front of the reader and was able to push the appropriate button. Each key allows access to the floor you’re staying on and the main floors. I really liked the security that gave me knowing that not just anyone from the mall can stroll the halls of Radisson BLU Mall of America. Along the way to our rooms, we came across a retro seating area and a large table with funky chairs. It was very inviting so we had to test the area out. This area was right outside the FireLake Grill House and Cocktail Bar and was definitely the place to be after Supper. It was hopping at about 9 PM when we strolled by.
After reaching our floor, we quickly found our room. Upon entering, the kids were in Heaven. Not only was our suite spacious, it had a crisp clean and elegant feeling. The kids immediately asked if we could move there and lovingly referred to it as “the apartment” during our entire stay. Our area consisted of one bedroom with a King size bed and master bath. The master bath had both a tub and shower. We also had a dining area, living room, 2nd bathroom, and small side area with an office desk. It was amazing! Truly the most sophisticated and welcoming hotel accommodations we’ve ever seen.
The Radisson BLU Mall of America also offers a variety of other noteworthy points. They have onsite: valet parking, self parking, meeting and event rooms, the FireLake Grill House and Cocktail Bar as well as the Solimar Spa, Fitness Center, and Pool. While I was hoping to have enough free time to visit the Fitness Center and Spa, that didn’t happen. The kids kept us hopping our entire stay. We did head down and visit the pool twice though. The pool was fairly large and we had it to ourselves on both visits. Along the sides of the pool are seating and towels. The water was refreshing and a nice temperature. We were all able to just walk right in without any temperature shock which was really nice with the younger ones.
The next morning, we headed to the lounge for a quick breakfast before hitting the rides over at the Mall of America. The spread was delicious! Fresh fruit, cereal, muffins, breaded roll, fresh oatmeal with a variety of fixings, scrambled eggs, yogurt, toast, and bagels. Plus, they had three different juices, soda pop, bottled water, and milk. Both my husband and my favorite was the oatmeal. Being able to “personalize” it was great. While I chose cane sugar and raisins, he got to pick what he preferred. The lounge itself was beautiful and modern with couches and chairs to relax or read magazines in as well as a bar height counter and tables to eat at.
One nice service that the Radisson BLU Mall of America provides is package pick up. When we went shopping at the mall, we just had to ring over and a Bell Hop came to grab our packages. After placing the call, it took about 10 minutes for the bell hop to meet us. This was an absolutely beneficial service to take advantage of while shopping the MOA. He kindly delivered our three bags all the way up to our suite.
One thing that really struck me about the Radisson BLU Mall of America is how many great views there were. The kids were constantly being drawn to the windows to stare down below. In halls, our room, and in the lounge, there was always something to look at.
Whether a traveler on vacation from far away, a family having a stay-cation close to home like us, a couples getaway, or on a business trip, the Radisson BLU Mall of America is a great choice. The service given, top of the line accommodations, and cheerful attitudes of the staff made our stay at the Radisson BLU Mall of America fantastic. And while there were many “business guests” during our stay, we felt very comfortable being there on our family vacation. Be sure to consider them for your next getaway.

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

I’ve never been here but it looks fab! Everyone looks like they loved it too. I would like not having to cook and clean, and sure you did as well.
I love the MOA! Been there many times, but never stayed at the BLU. Thanks for the ideas! This is great for when guests come from out of town or a staycation!
