I have to say that I love all the fun baby products and toys available these days. Looking back on old pictures from when I was young, the baby market has definitely improved what it offers. However, I’m always sad how fast our little ones grow and the fact that they use some of these products for such a short amount of time. So when a company takes the time to develop and perfect a product to grow with my baby, I like to take notice. Enter: the Oribel Portaplay Convertible Activity Center.
Geared for ages 0 to 5 years, the PortaPlay grows and adapts as a child’s skills increase and needs change. Starting out as a round saucer shaped bouncer, this stage offers a variety of toys surrounding baby. Once toddlerhood is reached, the seat and toys can be removed and a flat disc inserted in the center while the toy slots are filled with matching green fillers which snap in and out easily.
Assembly of the PortaPlay was simple. The legs come folded flat for storage and can be opened with a push of two buttons and snapped down into place. I truly love this feature as it allows for a very minimal space for storage. The legs also offer adjustable height with three options. The seat itself offers a slight bouncy give which is perfect for the little ones who love to jump, our daughter included. (Oribel states that it provides a 3″ bounce.) The lightweight compact design even offers easy travel.
Right away, I loved the colors. Bright and fun, yet classy and calming. The whole design offers a sophisticated style that would fit into almost any decor. The toys are all battery free (yeah!) and still eye-catching and fun.
As soon as our little girl saw this, she was excited. I originally had it set at the second height level but ended up dropping it down to the lowest setting for her. She is able to easily maneuver around the circle and play with each toy or spin to see what’s going on behind her. I really like everything about this product and can’t think of any changes. Our daughter at 10 months seems to love everything about the PortaPlay too.
