Thank you to Treats for providing me with product in exchange for review purposes. All opinions belong to me.
Treats is a company I have indulged in in the past. I love learning about new cultures, flavors and snacks from other parts of the world. Something about other people having different taste preferences than I do just intrigues me. Treatsis a company that does all the research for you they find, select and ship unique snack options from other cultures right to your door. Boxes start out at $12.95 for a subscription of 4-5 snacks every month and go up to $24.95 for a subscription box of 8-10 international snacks monthly. Included inside is also an information card, given I can’t read any other language than english I really appreciate this card.
As you can see below there is no skimping on the amount of snacks you receive!
I received a Treats Subscription Box box themed from Korea for review. I was interested to find that the flavors were so very different from the last box that I had gotten from Japan. The first snack we (my family) tried were cuddle fish peanut balls. These were not my favorite but very unique flavor to say the least. Both my kids and husband loved them though.
Next up on the list was Choco Boy Biscuits. These were a nice sweet treat, they had a cookie like stick with melty chocolate top!
Hot chicken balls were the follow up after a simple sweet treat. These were pretty sweet actually with an underlying spice to them. We chose to taste these and give them to a friend.
Kancho Choco biscuits were very similar to the little panda treats we have here in America. Everyone in the family enjoyed these.
These, these elegant little cookie sticks were easily my favorite. While appearing to be of an Oreo like decedent it was so much more packed with vanilla flavor. I loved these.
Binch chocolate biscuits were tasty but similar in flavor to all of the other cookie chocolate combinations.
Ah another favorite of mine but not my husband’s, the Sweet Plum candy. I thought these had a unique candy flavor I hadn’t enjoyed before (not to mention a seemingly ever-lasting quality) but my husband felt they were just a regular hard candy.
The Choco Pie! I was reminded of an American Moon Pie. Marshmallow insides with a crumbly cookie covered in chocolate!
The texture of these could have used a bit more crunch instead of crumble but were tasty nonetheless.
Treats can really open your view of your own tastes as well as teach you about how others process flavors. Since each box is themed monthly you can sort of get a feel for a common liked snack type for each culture. For Korea I felt there was a lot of choco cookie like similarities and I enjoyed exploring the snack characteristics of Korea from salty to sweet.
I am a stay at home mother of two, who loves to create in every form, from cooking, to henna, to painting or sculpting, creating with my hands is my passion! I love to dance and let loose when the music flows right. Being outside is a special kind of therapy I think humans need more of as well as mindfulness! I love all things new and adventurous and am always looking to experience more of life 🙂

I’m just not a fan of paying for someone else to decide what I’d like to eat. (shrug)

The Choco Boy looks really good. That would fun to taste snacks from other countries.

Not the best if you’re on a diet plan but at least there is some portion control, lol. I like to know all the ingredients of what I’m eating so hopefully they are listed in English somewhere since that’s all I understand too!

This looks so interesting! And an opportunity to try snacks that aren’t typically in US stores. I’ll have to pass this one along to my sister. She LOVES subscription boxes
