PackIt bags offer a smart solution to an age old problem. When a mom wanted to send her kids to school with fresh and healthy lunches, she discovered that the food became warm and unappetizing by lunch time. When plastic bags full of ice leaked and gel ice packs got lost, she had an epiphany. Why hasn’t someone invented a bag where the freezable gel was sewn into the lining? And so, PackIt was born.
Available in a variety of bag styles, prints, and sizes, PackIt bags fold flat and just need to be placed in the freezer the night before use (typically 12 -14 hours will result in a solid freeze) and then contents will be kept cool and fresh for up to 10 hours! No ice packs needed as the walls of PackIt bags offer enough chill.
The Freezable Uptown Lunch Bag, measures in at at 8.5″ H x 11.75″ W x 6″ D, which leaves lots of space for the things I want to keep cold. I can easily fit my whole lunch in here with room to spare for at least one or even two more meals. I love the thoughtful design behind this bag. The front flap actually has two zippered compartments for extra storage while the main compartment also features a zippered closure. Under the flap is also another pocket bringing the total to four compartments. Overall, great design and I love this bag!
With our upcoming trip, my sister will need to travel with some breastmilk. She was worried about how to keep the milk cold until we arrived in Florida but now with my Uptown Lunch Bag, she’s breathing a sigh of relief. Even though PackIt bags are not sanctioned by the TSA, customers have reported never having any issues. She can easily pack her frozen milk in my Uptown Bag and rest easy knowing the milk will stay cool and safe until we reach our hotel room.
The second PackIt bag I received is their Freezable 18 Can Cooler. When our family heads out during the Summer for picnics, parades, and park fun, we try to pack along something cool to drink. However, it seems that every time the beverages turn warm within an hour or two. So I am really excited to have this innovative cooler on hand this year! While I couldn’t really test it out in Summer conditions since it’s only about 40 degrees in Minnesota, I think the all around encased ice packs will definitely make a difference. I love that this cooler features handy mesh side pockets as well as a small zipper compartment on top. With both the carrying handle or shoulder strap options, this bag is pretty easy to lug around. (I did fill it and carry it for a bit with no problems.) The materials offer a secure and high quality style that feels like it will last.
