Thank you to Battat Co. for providing me with product, free of charge, in exchange for this honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.
Occasionally I am lucky enough to have my two young nieces over at my house. I love having them here. I want them to feel like our home is a fun place to visit.
Recently, I noticed that we didn’t have many toys for the girls to play with. My daughters are 9 and 7 years old. Many of their toys are inappropriate for my young nieces to play with.
I reached out to Battat for a couple preschool aged toys. For my review, they sent me a Farm House and a Dalmatian Vet Kit.
I asked my almost 4 year old niece, Jordyn, to help me review both the Farm House and Dalmatian Vet Kit. Jordyn was more than happy to help me.
The Dalmatian Vet Kit includes 15 pieces- Dalmatian puppy doll, stethoscope, thermometer, brush, syringe, tongs, mirror, reflex hammer, blood pressure cuff, scissors, ear examiner, and tweezers, food/water bowl, tray and the pet carrier.
When Jordyn was playing with the dalmatian puppy, I got to see her nurturing side. She was very sweet and gentle with the puppy. She named him Spot and then gave him a thorough exam. Then she ran tests and gave the puppy vitamins. After all of that, Jordyn helped Spot exercise and then put him down for a short nap.
The Farm House reminds me of one I had when I was a kid. The Farm House comes with a farmer, cow, horse, pig and sheep. To make it easier for play, the Farm House is on hinges and opens up to reveal the inside.
As soon as I opened the Farm House, Jordyn started playing. She picked up each animal, showed them to her baby sister and started making the animal noises. Then she mucked stalls, got them fresh water and filled their food dishes.
Both the Dalmatian Vet Kit and Farm House are toys that encourage the use of imagination through role play. I appreciate that Battat kept things simple. I love that these toys aren’t electronic.
Jordyn will be at my house this Sunday. I hope she remembers where we agreed to keep these toys.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

These both look like great toys! I love the Dalmatian vet, that would definitely be something my girls would love too (they are 2 and 7)! The barn is a wonderful interactive toy that I think my 2 and 3 year old would both love!

My cousin and his wife are both vets and I bet they’d love to get their kids this farm house. I think anything that does need batteries is great and this fosters creativity.
What? They don’t plug in? Outrageous! Actually very, very good. Imagination is something that needs to be nurtured.
