Thank you to Summerland Family Fun Park for inviting my family for a visit, free of charge, in exchange for this blog post. All opinions are 100% my own.
One of the best hidden gems of Minnesota just so happens to be located on Highway 23 in St. Cloud. It’s the perfect place to spend a warm summer day and our family loves visiting.
As you pull up to Summerland Fun Park, the very first thing you’ll notice is their giant blue 350 ft. long waterslide. It’s a fun attraction that draws riders of all ages from 3 to adult. There’s twists, turns, and speed which offers an adventurous and fun ride. Whether riders choose to utilize a mat or ride without, it’s sure to be an exciting ride. I really like that Summerland has life jackets on hand for riders to utilize as well. It gave me peace of mind and a little added safety for our 4 and 5 year old boys.
Directly across the path from the Giant Waterslide is the ever popular Go-Karts, Jr. Karts, Double Karts, and Indy Karts Grand Prix Track. The karts are run on a tar track that offers curves, banked turns, and guardrails to provide an exciting ride. I love that they offer the double karts as well because it allowed our two younger boys to double up with us and experience the thrill of a fast ride.
As you continue on down the path, you’ll come to a Mega Moonwalk. This is, by far, one of the largest I’ve ever seen! Open for ages 3 to 10, kids can bounce till their heart is content as there is no time limit. Our 4 year old really enjoyed this as well as our 5 1/2 year old. It was fun watching them make friends with other kiddos that were also jumping.
Next on your right comes the Bear Kountry Golf mini golf course. This is an 18 hole course that offers the beauty of waterfalls, a bridge, fun and challenging holes, and a variety of bear facts and replicas. It’s perfect for all ages and the scenery is beautiful. The boys especially loved some of the holes that had goofy hills and mounds on them as they enjoyed watching their balls roll over and down.
Continuing on, the Bumper Boats will have you spinning and splashing while cruising around the pool arena. Whether planning to bump or run, there is lots of smiles and laughs and I would suggest swimwear unless you don’t mind getting a bit wet in regular clothes! I made the mistake thinking I’d manage to come out unscathed by the water but was quite soaked by the end of my ride. It was loads of fun!
Now, head across the walkway path to the batting cages to practice your hitting techniques. The variety of cages offer machines with: Slow Pitch Softball, Fast Pitch Softball, 50 mph Baseball, or 60 mph Baseball. Pitches can be purchased in rounds of 12 balls or in time slots of 15 minutes, 1/2 hour, or 1 hour increments. The boys tried out the 50 mph baseball this year and our 9 year old son was doing awesome and hit almost all the pitches! Since he joined baseball for the first time this year, he loved doing the batting cages.
NEW ATTRACTION SET TO OPEN IN JULY 2016: If you keep walking the new sidewalk passed the batting cages, you’ll come to a brand new Picnic Shelter and Go Kart Track! Currently under construction, the new track is made from cement and offers slightly slanted tracks and extra turns. Brand new 9 HP Go Karts have been ordered and will be placed to run this track. Landscaping, guard rail, and tires will be next! Hand designed by the owner of Summerland, this new track was created with attention to details and and exciting ride in mind.
Back to the tar path, continue walking to Kid Kountry. Little ones from the ages of 3 to 8 especially love to visit this area of the park as they get to experience the ever popular “big people rides” in their very own sizes. Our two little guys spent much of their day down on this end of Summerland Fun Park. The Jr. Bumper Boats offered a gentler ride for the younger ones while the race track allowed them to feel the breeze as their cruised in their karts. They actually offer specially sized smaller karts for the 3 and 4 year olds and regular mini karts for the 5 to 8 year olds.
The last stop on the left is one of the newer attractions, The Lakes Adventure Golf. Each hole features a story board with Minnesota Lakes info while the greens are bigger and the water traps more challenging. This would definitely make for a great date with the special someone in your life or a fun adventure to take on as a family. The large waterfall was gorgeous and the scenery splendid.
The day would not be complete without some food and a treat. So head over to the concession stand for a variety of yummy offerings from pizza, hotdogs, and burgers to nachos, candy, and ice cream. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious and made the day extra great. Bonus points for the food being reasonably priced too! A pizza was $10.95 while nachos ran at $3.
Summerland is open each year starting Memorial Weekend and going through Labor Day. Their park is clean, well cared for, and the staff was very polite. It was an awesome day and the kids can’t wait to head back!

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

I love your fun park posts, especially the water parks, which looks great to me in the sweltering California heat. It’s great they have a military day on the fourth. I’d love to visit this, especially the upcoming completed new expansion.
