Thank you to Image3D for providing me with product in exchange for this honest blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.
A couple of months ago, my nine-year-old daughter saw the commercial for the thing you attached to your cell phone, put it on your head and see photos/videos. She began begging for one. I told her their was no way she was going to get one- she doesn’t have a cell phone, I am not spending that amount of money, and I don’t like the idea of putting a cell phone that close to your face. Of course, she started giving me reasons why she “had to have one.” I pulled the mom card and said, “Back when I was your age, we had View-Master 3D viewers, not some fancy-schmancy electronic toy.” She looked at me and said “Huh?!” A couple days went by and then I received an email that made me jump up and down! I was asked to review RetroViewers from Image3D.
RetroViewers are 3D viewers that you create. Customers get to make photo reels from their own digital images. Each reel, can hold seven images. You can even add text to your images…note the location, time, age, names etc.
I begged Image3D to allow me to make two RetroViewers, one for each daughter. They graciously allowed me to do so. It took me a LONG time to create my reel. I take so many photos of my kids. I sorted through 100s or maybe even a 1000 photos and then narrowed it down to 10. (A lot of tears fell while I was looking over all of the photos. Why do kids grow up so fast?!) I let my husband have the final say on our seven images. Once that part was over, the rest was easy and quick. The website walks you through each step. I uploaded my photos, edited them and then added a message to my girls on the last photo in the reel. It took me about 15 minutes to create both RetroViewers.
In about a week, the RetroViewers were at my door. They were perfect…and yes, more tears. My daughters are going to love these! They each have a RetroViewer with photos of them throughout their lives. I am looking forward to the girls opening their RetroViewers Christmas morning. This is going to be a gift to remember.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

I loved these as a kid, they were so fun! 🙂 How awesome that they have recreated them and even cooler that you can add your own pictures to the reels! This will definitely be a very special present for your girls! Thank you so much for sharing, I want to get one for each one of my littles now!

This is such a great idea! I super love that you can do your own photos. This would make a superb gift with personalized discs.

Totally takes me back to when i was really young. This was my favorite toy and I adored the E.T. movie images!

I loved mine when I was a kid, but it was never a hit with my own children.

Now THAT is nifty! I remember these well as a kid and how fun and exciting it was to see pictures in 3D! I would imagine it would have been very difficult to choose what pictures to use. I could also see these given to seniors… these would be a great way or them to ‘remember’ family members since you can add titles. Very clever !

Yes I would be one of those boomers who had a View Master. I think it was my cousins, kept at my grandma’s though. We all shared but I am loving the retro version here. I hope kid’s today really take a look cause they can be really educational too.
I remember these from way back, they are pretty cool, this would make a fun gift.
