I have always found it pretty exciting when my babies started eating solid foods. It was such a fun step and really made me start thinking of them as toddlers and not an infant any more. As we made the transition, I would always turn to kid-friendly companies that offer tableware geared for these milestones as our glass cups and plates just weren’t a safe option. One company that I’ve utilized many products from over the years just so happens to be The First Years.
As little ones get hungry on their own schedule, sometimes I just need to grab a quick healthy snack for them. The Suction Dip Plate is especially handy when I serve our little girl some fruits and veggies as it is designed with a built-in dipping area.
The Suction Dip Plate also features a suction base to help keep this plate in place which is especially helpful when those busy hands are on the move. It’s also designed with a unique curved rim to help young children guide their food onto silverware while also being removable for cleaning. Dishwasher safe and BPA free, our daughter loves this plate.
Next up, The First Years has their Take & Toss Double Duty Plates. These plates even double as a lid which makes them perfect for on the go eating. Simply snap two together to create a leak-resistant container.
The built in utensil department is especially handy and keeps the silverware separated from the food while still offering easy access when it’s time to eat. When two plates are snapped together, each separate compartment actually becomes leak-proof too so you don’t have to worry about everything becoming a mess either! (Especially handy for those kiddos who don’t like their food to mix.) This set comes with four plates and one fork and even though it boasts Take & Toss, they are actually dishwasher safe and can be used over and over!
Finally, life with a toddler wouldn’t be complete without Spill Proof Sippy Cups. I try not to make it a habit of letting our toddler walk around the house with a cup but there are some days where it happens. So for those times, it’s important to have a great spill proof option available so my carpet can stay unscathed.
This 9 ounce size is an adequate capacity for when out and about running errands while the one piece lid makes cleaning a breeze. I’ve always disliked all the different valves and pieces that many cups feature when they offer spill proof use but The First Years has designed these cups with a built in valve that requires no extra pieces. Plus, the lids are interchangeable with all of their other reusable one piece lids so I can mix and match between cups (which is perfect for when half of a cup/lid set goes missing!)
Overall, some more great new choices from The First Years! Their products are designed for easy use and cleaning while also featuring kid-friendly colors and designs. Check them out for your own little ones as well as the next time you’re shopping for a baby gift!

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

I love the suction part of the plate. That is so nice. I like the dipping section also to introduce them to other tastes.

Do they make the suction plate without the dip section? It’s a great plate design for everday use. I had one similar for my kids.

Those are great for young ones learning to eat real food.

I really like how the plate has suction. That would sure help keeping things in place. It is tough for little hands to keep things from siding around. All of these products look fantastic and would make meal time easier for kids and thee adults!
I really like the suction dip plate! It’s great to have something that suctions down, making it harder to get knocked off the table and make a huge mess
