Sending a big thank you to Camp Lebanon for welcoming our family to a fun-filled weekend at Camp!
Well, we just got back from having an amazing time at Camp Lebanon‘s Memorial Weekend Family Camp and I can’t wait to share all the details with you! While we had high expectations, we were completely blown away as Camp Lebanon went above and beyond all that we were expecting. Their motto of being “Home of the funnest fun” definitely held true!
Just around this corner and up a hill lies one of Minnesota’s hidden treasures called Camp Lebanon! Upon arriving, our eyes are met by the beautiful Chalet, which is the hub of camp. This main building hosts Chapel, Camp Store, Game Room, Bathrooms, Eating Hall, and more.
Off to the side we found the camp office and headed over to check in and get our cabin assignment. There are actually several housing options which include: Dorm Style Buildings, Traditional Cabins, or Full Service RV Sites. The cabins are all named after countries from around the world and we were assigned to New Zealand. Each cabin comes furnished with bunk beds, a couple single beds, a chair, heater, and an AC unit. While none are too far away, we were thrilled to be located right next door to the bathrooms and shower house as we made midnight bathroom runs with at least one child per night!
After check in on Friday, we had a couple of hours to explore and then Welcome Chapel at 8:30 pm. While we are typically heading to bed at this time, everyone was energetic and excited for our upcoming adventures and we had no problem staying awake late.
Chapel is one of the big focuses at Camp Lebanon and it goes hand in hand with their mission to “Providing A Meeting Place With God”. During Chapel, we’d sing some great worship songs. Most were super energetic, included actions, and had adults and kids alike begging for more. The Camp Host, Bill Abeler, as well as the Weekend Speaker, Jim Hinson, took turns offering encouragement, sharing stories, and preaching from the Bible. It was truly a captivating time, each and every day, that really encourages building on faith and focusing on God.
One of our main Bible versus for the weekend was 1 John 3:1 “How GREAT the love the Father has lavished on us, that we may be called the children of God. For that is what we are!” This exuberant verse came fully equipped with actions to help us all remember it and we had a fun time repeating it often.
Finally, the perfect way to end our very first day at Family Camp was with a community bon fire right outside of the Chalet. The Canteen was open offering free popcorn as well as a variety of snacks and beverages for purchase. We hung out chatting while some of the kiddos played games with other camp kids. The weather was perfect and our weekend was off to a great start!
Stay tuned for my next Camp Lebanon Family Camp Post coming soon!
I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

How beautiful it is there! Being a desert dweller, seeing a green area is so refreshing. I would really like to see pictures of the inside of the cabins.
