I was sent Hi-Chew candy for review. All opinions are my own.
The back to school season can be chaotic for parents and kids alike. There are so many emotions involved for most kids. On one hand, getting back into a strict sleep schedule and routine can be difficult. On the other, most kids are eager to spend more time with their friends again. As a kid I loved school shopping, too. Outside of my birthday or Christmas, it was often the only time we got new clothing. It was fun to get to pick out clothes to start each school year fresh. Such a mix of excitement and anxiousness!
Hi-Chew is a chewy, fruity candy from Japan that I had never heard of until recently. It comes in several varieties, with most of their varieties being chewy. They aren’t quite as sticky or soft as taffy but it’s along those lines. It’s available in many fruit-based flavors. I love the apple, banana and strawberry varieties. Ryan tried cherry and loved that. There is a sours line which includes lime, lemon and grapefruit. Hi-Chew even has a few unique options such as “fizzies” which are available in the soda flavors orange and cola.
Adding a piece or two of candy to your child’s lunch could be a fun way to brighten their day when heading back to school.
We haven’t tried the entire line quite yet, but we have both enjoyed everything that we have tried. In fact, they are so addicting that we’ve been hiding the stash from ourselves to avoid over-indulging!
When you buy a bag of Hi-Chew, the candy inside comes individually wrapped which is perfect for lunch boxes. Add a “sweet” note to go with it, and your child will certainly smile when opening their lunch box.

My kids love hichew but my 14 and 10 year old decided to be vegan sp now me and my 9 year old enjoy these
My son actually started his senior year today! He does oreos in his lunch for a sweet. My daughter would definitely like these though – probably the sour ones.
