My daughter loves to play hide and seek; she has been playing it with us for months and is extremely good at it for only being 21 months old. Her favorite places to hide are behind curtains and in closets. She stays extremely still and quiet until we find her, then she giggles and is so proud! Another thing she really likes right now is Elmo! I am pleased to partner with Identity Games to showcase their Elmo’s World Hide and Seek game – combining two of my daughter’s favorite things!
All you have to do once you open the box is add two AAA batteries to Elmo, turn him on, and you are ready to play. Elmo begins giving clues every 10 seconds. The first of many clues: “Elmo is so happy you want to play hide and seek!”, then come more clues like “Try again to find Elmo.” Once you find him he praises,“Yay, you found Elmo!” and then adds his famous chuckle “hehehe.”
The Elmo’s World Hide & Seek game is suitable for children ages 6 months and older. It includes a sturdy plastic Elmo with sound, 24 location cards, and game rules that grow with your child.
At 6 months old you can play Peek-a-boo with Elmo by hiding him under a blanket or stuffed animal. It reinforces the notion that out of sight does not mean the item has disappeared. Level two is traditional hide & seek with little ones closing their eyes while someone places Elmo in a nearby spot. Babies can crawl and preschoolers can walk (or run, like my daughter!) to the sound of Elmo’s voice. As they enter the preschool years, you can use the enclosed game cards with illustrated clues and have your child count to ten as you hide Elmo.
My daughter had no trouble following the sound of Elmo’s voice and finding him each time I hid him. It’s safe to say this game is a winner in our house!
