I love to decorate for Christmas and there is nothing better then adding some fresh flowers to the mix. I have to say that when I was asked by Flower Muse to create some holiday centerpieces I was very nervous. I am not creative at all when it comes to flowers. Flower Muse had some great selections of flowers for me to choose from. I don’t really know anything about flowers. When I started thinking about what I could do and how I could add some fresh flowers to my Christmas decorations I decided on getting some white Hydrangeas. I feel like I added a little bit of extra pizzazz to my Christmas tree and wreath. I also made a nice centerpiece for my dining room table.
When the flowers arrived I opened up the boxes and was very impressed by how well the flowers were packed. Each stem was in a tiny bag of water to keep them fresh. The flowers weren’t limp or discolored in any way. Before taking any of the flowers out of the box my brain started working overtime. I thought that I would try cutting some of the stems and sticking the beautiful white hydrangeas in my Christmas tree. My husband and I loved the look of it. They weren’t over whelming at all. If you are looking to decorate your Christmas tree with fresh flowers I would suggest finding a way to keep the stems in some water or if you want to add them to your tree the day you have guests coming over that would be perfect.
I also decided to see how some of the hydrangeas would look on my wreath that is hanging on our door. I pulled some small stems off and placed them around my wreath with the rest of the decorations. My husband and I made our wreath 5 years ago and we still love it and use it every year. Adding fresh flowers to it made it look like a brand new wreath. The look was so fresh and clean. We absolutely love it and have already gotten some compliments on it! My four year old son loved it as well! He noticed it right away when he came home from school.
The third project I decided to try was to make a centerpiece for our dining room table. I am not good at making flower arrangements so I was dreading this project. Creating the centerpiece was the most time consuming and frustrating for me. I couldn’t get it exactly how I wanted it. I am very happy with the way that it finally turned out, but if definitely took me some time! I cut the stems and bunched them into a flower vase. The hydrangeas are arranged at different heights to make it look full. The arrangement turned out larger then I thought it would, but I do love it!
