I eat a fair amount of ready to eat soups. I feel like they tend to be healthier than frozen options but are just as convenient. Or even more convenient seems how they usually only require a couple of minutes in the microwave. Campbell’s is one of my favorite brands of soup. I go through lots of their soup at hand soups because I can pop them in the microwave and drink them in the car.
Campbell’s new line of soups is called Go Soup (not to be confused with their to-go soups which is the new name for their soups that used to be called soup at hand). These new Go Soups come in a unique bag or pouch and are primarily white with black and white photos of peoples faces on the front. They are designed to be easy to use at work or similar situations where you need a microwave meal to eat away from home. They are also designed to have more flavor than canned soups which are traditionally a bit more bland.
The containers, I have to admit I’m not a huge fan of. They do allow you to cook the soup in the container, but you can’t eat the soup out of the container, you have to pour it into a bowl. So to me, it’s not really any easier than taking a canned soup to work, because in the end you need a bowl, spoon and the container so it’s about the same, and the pouches are harder to store in the pantry than cans.
The soup itself however I am a big fan of. I am a rather picky eater and the Go Soups have some ingredients that I am unfamiliar with such as chickpeas and madras curry. I am a fan of chicken soup, so I decided to try Moroccan style chicken with chickpeas and Chicken & Quinoa with Poblano Chilies. There is another chicken variety that is called Coconut Curry with Chicken and Shittake Mushroom but seems how I don’t care for coconut or mushrooms I decided not to try that one.
The Chicken & Quinoa with Poblano Chilies had a lot of seasoning and was far from bland, but it had a bit too much of a tomato taste for me. I don’t like tomatoes, but I would think that most people who likes both chicken and tomatoes would have liked this variety.
I really enjoyed the Moroccan Style Chicken With Chickpeas, though. I wasn’t sure what Chickpeas were but they don’t have a whole lot of flavor in themselves, they mostly just seemed to hold onto the flavor of the overall soup. I liked how much spice the soup had. I had to drink it with a glass of water and keep sipping it because it was spicy.
Ryan really likes Chorizo, so he tried the spicy chorizo and pulled chicken with black beans. We were surprised that it seemed like more of a chicken soup than a chorizo soup, as the overall soup flavor was more chicken-like and there were only a few pieces of Chorizo. Overall, it was pretty chili-like in flavor.
Neither Ryan nor I were familiar with gouda cheese but I like red peppers so I tried the Creamy Red Pepper With Smoked Gouda soup and it did have a cheese-like taste though ti was different than any cheeses I had tried. I wasn’t really a fan of it but I assume that it’s probably because I’m unfamiliar with gouda cheese and likely wouldn’t like gouda cheese if I tried it.
All varieties had a thicker overall texture than I had expected, making them a combination of a soup and stew like texture, as it wasn’t as watery as traditional soup or as thick as regular stew.
I feel like we would have had more overall success if Ryan & I were fans of the primary ingredients in these soups. They definitely have more flavor than canned soups and I like the overall concept, I just am not a fan of the ingredients that they use like gouda cheese, tomatoes, curry, etc. If you want to check them out, go here to print a $1.00 coupon.
In addition to the soups, I was sent this talk bubble and disguise. I’m sure you can’t even tell it’s me, right?

I LOVED the spicy chorizo with pulled chicken and black beans. Soooooo delicious! I will definitely buy more. I have two more selections to try, golden lentil with madras curry, and Moroccan style chicken with chickpeas. I hope they are equally as satisfying!
I love these packages and the flavors look amazing! Can’t wait to try them out!
