I am always looking for kid/family friendly meal ideas. I saw a Pizza Popper recipe floating around Facebook and decided I would like to give it a try. I can’t find the exact link back but it was really close to this Pepperoni Pizza Poppers . I liked the fact that it was fairly simple, only included a couple ingredients, and my kids could help me cook! With 4 small kids ages 8 and under, it’s important that we take time to have fun together and that includes letting them help in the kitchen.
Ingredients that I used:
~Pillsbury Biscuits, 4 pack (as many of the small cans as you need)
~Mini Pepperonis
~Block of Cheese (I used Colby Jack)
~Seasoning (I used Tastefully Simple Garlic Bread Seasoning)
~Pizza Sauce (for dipping)
Cut the cheese into small cubes. Make them as big or small as you prefer. Roll out the biscuits. (I’m sure there are many things you could use in place of the biscuits. Homemade pizza dough, bread dough, the sky is the limit.) Add one chunk of cheese and some mini pepperonis. (You could definitely add something other than pepperoni to your poppers or you could add multiple ingredients. I know my husband would love pepperoni, onions, and peppers. So I may give that try next time.) Wrap back up and seal edges. Place seam side down in a greased pan. I used a 9*13 for our family. We did up 4 cans of biscuits (40 Pizza Poppers) and had about 15 left over. So we could have gotten by with one less can. It’s okay to not fill your pan completely full as well. The Poppers just spread out a little more but still turn out fine. Once you’ve made as many poppers as you want, sprinkle the top with seasoning. I used the Tastefully Simple Garlic Bread Seasoning but you could use whatever you wanted. Even garlic salt and italian seasoning would probably be good.
After sprinkling with seasoning, bake at 350 degrees for about 15 to 20 minutes. You will know they are done because they will start to turn golden brown (as pictured) and some of the cheese will start seeping through. Don’t over-bake or the cheese will completely explode through the Poppers. Serve with pizza sauce for dipping. We made a meal of these by adding buttered noodles, corn, and green beans. But these would make a great afternoon snack if you just wanted to do the poppers. I hope your family enjoys as much as ours does.
This post is not sponsored in any way. I just wanted to share a quick fun recipe. Feel free to copy, use, or change any of the ingredients as you chose. Have a great day!
I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

These look simple enough. I know my mom used to use those Pillsbury cans of dough and they are convenient. I like the little bite sized portions.
