If you read this blog, you probably know about bamboo clothing. Before this blog, I had never heard of bamboo as a fabric, but it sounded great. It’s hypoallergenic, extremely green, cool, light, odor-free and incredibly soft. When I had the opportunity to review some bamboo clothing, I was very excited.
Spun Bamboo Apparel makes bamboo clothing and other luxurious items, such as towels and sheets. They’re all made from high quality, authentic bamboo fibers. One of their slogans is “I didn’t know bamboo could be this comfortable.” I received the Women’s V-Neck Cap Sleeve in teal, the Women’s Pleated Lounge Top in burgundy, as well as the No Look Anklet Sock to review.
Here’s the Women’s V-Neck Cap Sleeve in teal:
This t-shirt is a great length, long enough so that you never have to worry about showing some skin if you bend over. The color is really pretty too, and the fabric definitely lives up to the hype. It is incredibly soft. This shirt is made from 70% organic bamboo, and 30% cotton blend. It’s also very true to size, and the sizing chart.
Here’s the v-neck cap sleeve on me:
The Women’s Pleated Lounge Top in burgundy was my favorite of the two shirts.
This lounge top is incredibly soft. I used it both as a pajama top, and a shirt. It’s so comfortable, I loved wearing it to sleep in, but it’s cute enough that I even wore it as a top when I went out. Here’s me in the lounge top:
The lounge top is made from 95% organic bamboo and 5% spandex. The sizes run large on this shirt, which is nice, since you want a lounge top to be loose. I would order a size smaller than normal though if you wanted to use the shirt as non-lounge top as well.
Here’s the No Look Anklet Sock:
These socks are so comfortable, I now want all my socks to be like these! They’re thick, but don’t get hot on your feet, and they’re very cushion-y. They’re pretty much everything I like in a sock, plus more. They don’t absorb odors like normal socks, so they’re never smelly, even after being worn all day. These are made from 87% organic bamboo, 10% nylon, and 3% spandex.
All of these items also washed and dried very well. I put them through my washer and dryer a few times, on the normal cycle, and they came out perfectly each time. They haven’t lost any of their softness, and they didn’t shrink in the dryer. I’ve always wanted to try bamboo clothing and I’m now definitely a huge fan. These items from Bamboo Apparel were really great.
