I recently discovered that I really do like bean bag chairs, provided they are high quality. My fiancé pretty much claimed our other bean bag chair, so I was excited to be able to review a Sumo Lounge bean bag chair, one I could have all to myself.

Sumo Lounge sells luxury bean bag chairs, but at great, competitive prices. All their bean bag chairs have high quality filling, and removable covers, and are definitely not the hard crunchy bean bag chairs you might be used to seeing. I received the Sumo Sultan to review. I chose the microsuede cover in firey red.

Bean bag chairs that you purchase online come vacuum sealed. Here’s the Sumo Sultan right out of the box:

Once I cut open the plastic bag surrounding it, the bean bag chair immediately started to puff up to size. This bean bag chair came without the removable cover on, so I had to put it on. Here’s a picture of it in the process:

It got big fast! I put the cover on the bean bag chair all by myself. It was a little bit of a challenge, but I did manage to get in on after awhile. It would have been a lot easier to put on with another person, but I like knowing that I can do it by myself if I have to.

I put the Sumo Sultan in the living room. Here’s a picture of it, once it reached its full size, with my dog on it for a size reference:

And here’s a picture without the flash, a week or so later, from a different angle:

I couldn’t get my dog to look at the camera, of course! As you can see, the bit of wrinkles that were on the cover in the first picture worked out once it was on there a little while.

My dog is small, she’s a miniature pinscher, but she pretty much drowns in this bean bag chair. It’s huge! It easily fits a large grown adult, with enough room to lounge back in it, and it can also fit two grown adults sitting up straight. Everyone that has seen this bean bag chair comments on how large it is.

I also immediately loved the color and the cover. The color is a really pretty true red, just a bit on the pink end of the red spectrum. It’s my favorite red color, and looks amazing. The microsuede is also really nice. The cover is thick, and has a perfect soft leathery feel that you expect from suede. The zipper is nice and zips smoothly, and is hidden under a flap.

I also really love the filling in this bean bag chair. The Sumo Sultan has a polyester fill, that makes it much like a huge pillow. To me, it feels like laying on a cloud (you know, if that were actually possible). You sink down quite a bit into the chair, but you never touch the ground. It is incredibly comfortable. As I’ve mentioned before, I have lower back pain, and this chair is great for it, much better than my couch or arm chair. I sit in the bean bag chair pretty much all the time. I’m even in it now as I type up this review!

This bean bag chair also doesn’t require any fluffing. Unlike other bean bag chairs, the Sumo Sultan puffs right back up once you stand up. I really like that about this bean bag chair. Having to fluff a chair of this size would get a bit daunting, so it’s great that the Sumo Sultan just fluffs back up on its own.

The only downside to this chair is that I did have a couple of threads come loose from the stitching. I’m not sure if it’s just a fluke, as the majority of the chair seems to be stitched really well. I cut off the loose threads, and I haven’t had any problems in that regard since.

I definitely recommend the Sumo Sultan. I make all my friends and family lounge back in it whenever they come over, and everyone loves it and wants their own. Sumo Lounge has a wide range of bean bag chairs, from smaller or shaped chairs, to believe it or not, even larger chairs. They have a size and type to fit any need!
