We recently snuck away for a mini family vacation. We went to our favorite spot in central Oregon. Where we were staying, we had access to a water park. I promised my daughters that we would spend more time at the water park this year. I also (somehow) agreed that I would swim this year and since I just watched others swim last year, my commitment to the girls meant I needed to find a new swimsuit.
Buying a swimsuit can be a difficult process for many women. There is the dreaded dressing room with horrible lighting, unattractive swimsuit designs and unflattering cuts. Nothing about this process was fun to me. I decided to skip the nightmare dressing room and try shopping online. I turned to one of my favorite active wear clothing stores–prAna. Much to my delight, prAna had just released a new line of swimwear. Perfect timing, right!
For my review, prAna sent me their Manori Tankini Top in Turquoise, Makenna Board Shorts in Coal and Tess Shorts in gravel color.
Choosing a swimsuit was fairly easy with the prAna Swim Style Guide. It showed me all the styles available, their features, what materials they are made out of, the activities they were best suited for, and which colors and patterns could be selected.
I chose the Manori Tankini Top and Makenna Board Shorts because they looked like they would provide the coverage I wanted, the bust support I needed and were attractive at the same time.
My new suit arrived the day before we left for our trip. I tried it on (in the comfort of my home) and was really pleased with the fit. I loved how well it covered my problem areas while looking really playful and attractive. It was exactly what I was looking for.
Tess Shorts are made with 97% organic cotton and 3% spandex. They have a zipper fly and draw cord waistband. There are front patch pockets and back flap pockets with button closures.
It has been a long time since I wore shorts. The Tess Shorts were the perfect pair to start with. They have a versatile style and are very comfortable. I have worn them in casual situations since our vacation and pared them with my favorite t-shirt and flip-flops. When I need a slightly dressier casual look, I add a tank-top, button up shirt and sandals. Either way, the Tess Shorts look great.
Our vacation was amazing! We had a lot of fun at the water park; in fact, swimming was my favorite part of the trip. I had so much fun playing and being carefree while in the water. Thank you for the fun memories prAna.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
