I buy A LOT of produce. We are a family that believes in eating at least four servings of veggies and two of fruit each day. Even though we go through our produce pretty fast, sometimes the heat in our house can make it ripen too fast. That of course means our produce isn’t as fresh as we would like it to be. I knew there had to be a product to help keep produce fresher, longer. I found Bluapple and had to give it a try!

For my review, I received a Bluapple pack and refill.

As produce ripens, it emits Ethylene gas. In nature, this isn’t a big deal.  In fact, it is helpful in attracting pollinators. However, when we store our produce at home, the concentration of Ethylene gas in a small area causes our produce to ripen at an accelerated rate. Often times, this means we won’t have enough time to enjoy our fresh vegetables and fruits before they have become rotten.

In order to keep our produce fresher longer, we need to keep them in a cool temperature, have mild humidity levels and control the levels of Ethylene Gas. That’s where Bluapple comes in. Bluapple was designed to help absorb Ethylene gas. It is simple solution to a common problem. It is organic, non-toxic and can be recycled.

I placed my Bluapples in our produce bowl a few weeks ago. It seems to help keep our produce fresh longer. I also noticed a reduction in the number of fruit flies hanging around.

For best results, it is suggested you replace the absorbent pad within the Bluapple every three months.
