As I’ve mentioned before, I’m shocked when I see the lack of selection that men have when it comes to skin care items. My fiancé uses a moisturizer after washing his face, and if we go in store to get him some, we’re lucky to find more than one brand that’s targeted for men. When we heard about Facelube, a company which makes high-end anti-aging skin care for men, we were very excited to give it a try.

I received the VO Victor Ortiz Classic Collection from Facelube for my fiancé to review:

The VO Victor Ortiz Collection from Facelube consists of three steps, a cleanser, treatment, and then a protectant. It is to be used twice a day. This collection is for all skin types, and is anti-aging. The collection is also eco-friendly, paraben and sulfate free, fragrance and dye free, as well as silicone/PEG free. The lack of such ingredients makes this a great line for anyone with sensitive skin. It is quite hard to find men’s products without cologne-like fragrances. This collection also contains a lot of nourishing, anti-aging ingredients.

My fiancé saw immediate results when using the Facelube VO Victor Ortiz Classic Collection. He generally has fairly shiny, oily skin, and his skin appeared a lot more matte, and less oily immediately after using the collection. He thought that the cleanser made his skin feel very clean, but didn’t dry it out. The protectant moisturized his skin really well as well. Both immediately afterward, and especially a few weeks after using these products, his skin really did look better.

My fiancé is still fairly young, so he cannot really speak to the anti-aging properties, however it is great prevention. It’s far easier to prevent wrinkles than get rid of them once they’re already present, and he liked knowing that he was preventing wrinkles, while having very nice skin in process.

There were a couple of downsides to the collection. The protectant does not contain any sunscreen. One of the best ways to prevent wrinkles is to protect your skin from the sun. Therefore, when using this collection, I would recommend applying sunscreen over the top during the day. My fiancé also said that the treatment, similar to a toner, made his skin feel a bit sticky in combination with the protectant, similar to moisturizer. While I thought his skin looked great when he used both, he didn’t like the slight sticky feeling it left on his skin. He started using just the protectant step, without the treatment, and thought it felt a lot better.

We both tried out the chap stick, and thought it was really nice. It made our lips feels nice and soft. It was a great bonus to the skin care collection. It seems like our lips are often left out of skin care regimens, but they’re just as important as any other part of your face.

Overall, my fiancé really liked these men’s anti-aging skin care products. The Facelube VO Victor Ortiz Classic Collection made his face look great, and despite not enjoying the treatment step, it’s still a collection that he wants to continue using. Facelube also makes many other skin care lines, so it would be easy to find a skin care line that works best for your skin. It’s a great option for men, especially since they have so few normally!
