I definitely like all types of alcohol. I love a good drink every now and then. I also love all things caramel, so when I heard about Lovoka, a caramel liqueur, I was very interested in trying it.
I was sent a bottle of Lovoka to review:
Lovoka is a caramel liqueur, with undertones of toffee and vanilla. It was originally created in South Africa, and the name reflects this origin. Lovoka is a deep, golden color, that reflects its origins in Johannesburg, which is also known as the city of gold. The liqueur is made from natural ingredients, and triple distilled spirit. Lovoka has won many awards in South Africa, and is now available in the United States.
The first thing I liked about Lovoka was the bottle. It’s an aluminum bottle, which makes the alcohol chill faster than a glass bottle. I put the Lovoka in the freezer, and was surprised that it really did cool faster. I also think it just looks pretty cool, and unique.
The liqueur itself is definitely everything it claims to be. It has a strong caramel flavor, and you can also taste the hints of vanilla and toffee. The liqueur is 60 proof, so it tastes pretty good by itself, just on the rocks. It’s nice, sweet, and smooth. It was also great as a mixed drink. The Lovoka website has lots of recipes you can try. I really liked the Lovoka with a splash of cola.
Overall, I really liked this caramel liqueur. I would recommend Lovoka to anyone who enjoys caramel flavor, and is over 21 years of age.
Lovoka is also promoting their product and celebrating gay pride in Los Angeles, with the help of makeup artist and RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Raja Gemini. Lovoka and Raja will be supporting LA Pride at the following:
The Motherload in WEHO at 11pm on June 7th
The Official PRIDE BASH at Here Lounge at 7pm on June 8th
The Frontier Party photo booth on June 8th
The Eleven in WEHO at 10pm on June 8th
So if you’re in the LA area, and would like to try Lovoka, and celebrate LA Pride, you should go check it out!

Now that looks very interesting. I am not much into alcohol as I get sick no matter what I drink.. but that has me intrigued 🙂
I agree, that’s a great bottle! Good idea since it chills faster.
