My daughters (ages 4 and 6) love making craft projects. They enjoy them even more, when the finished product is something they are able to use. We were recently asked to review a MakIt Plate craft kit. MakIt is the best of both craft worlds so we jumped at the opportunity.
MakIt offers kits that allow you to create a truly personalized piece of dinnerware. They offer kits to create plates, tumblers, mugs, bowls, and platters. They have kits that can be personalized with your art or photos. MakIt has a variety of themes including music, sports, teachers, weddings, birthdays, pets, seasons, holidays and Disney.
For our review, we received a MakIt Plate kit. Our Prepaid MakIt Plate Kit included: 25 paper templates, washable markers and a return envelope with prepaid postage.
When our MakIt kit arrived, we were walking out the door for a mini family vacation. I tossed the kit in with our luggage. When we arrived at our destination, I told the girls I had a surprise activity but didn’t give them all the details. I wanted to surprise them with a meal on their plates later on. When we sat down to work on the project, I gave them a few of the paper templates and the markers. I asked them to make a few pictures for me. They had fun drawing but really wanted to know why they were drawing on round papers and what I had planned for their drawings. I ended up telling them. They didn’t believe me or understand how their paper drawings were going to end up on plates. I told them it was MakIt magic.
Both girls decided to draw a bowl of fresh garden produce.
Once our drawings were complete, we put them in the prepaid envelope and mailed them off. In very little time, we received another envelope from MakIt. It was our plates! They looked even better than I had imagined. The girls were quite impressed that their drawings were now on a plate that they could actually use.
MakIt Plate Kit was a hit in our house!

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
