*I was sent a canvas print in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own.
In some ways, I consider myself creative. Home decorating is not one of those ways. I visit others’ homes and see things that I enjoy and can try to recreate them, or see home decor images on Pinterest that are pleasing to me that I can copy. However, I’m not one to just come up with ideas for decorating my house just out of my imagination. I tend to default to hanging photos or art. This can be a struggle though because I’m really particular about what paintings (or prints) I enjoy. I’ve browsed rows of hanging wall art in stores in my area without being able to find a single piece that i’d consider buying. This makes me so glad for the internet and sites like Redbubble that have massive selections of prints.
Redbubble gameboy ipad case & children’s t -shirt
Redbubble has a huge selection of canvas prints, framed prints, t-shirts, Iphone and Ipad cases and more. They allow over 250,000 artists to sell their goods on their site so there’s definitely something for everyone, regardless of your art preferences.
I was primarily interested in canvas prints because I love how they pop off the wall a little bit. So I went to that category to find over 3 million results. Wow! From there, you can narrow your results by when the piece was added, by popular search terms such as nature, abstract, landscape, flower, etc, by medium and more. I love abstract paintings, so I went with Abstract and still had more than 160,000 options. Thankfully, Redbubble is well aware of their massive offerings and allows you to refine your results even further, adding an additional search term. I added red, black and blue as additional tags as I like art that uses primary colors but i’m less of a fan of yellow. Thankfully, this lowered my results down to about 1750 results which was much more manageable, but because it was so specific, a LOT of the results grabbed my attention. I somehow managed to work my way down to my four or five favorites, and then let Ryan pick his favorite between those seems how this would be hanging in his house, too.
The piece that we chose is called Family Ties by Ruth Palmer. It’s available in four sizes. Most of the pieces at Redbubble are available in multiple sizes but the measurements will vary depending on what the artist wants to offer and the ratio of the piece. Ours is the extra large which is 20 inches by 20 inches and sells for $43.43. I like it even more in person than I did online and I was thrilled how the texture appears in person. In fact, Ryan’s six year old niece Ava was over one day and noticed it hanging on the wall an touched it. Then she said “oh, it looked like it was painted.” so of course we explained that we thought it looked that way too, that she wasn’t silly for wanting to “feel” it only to find out it was flat.
I liked how thick the canvas was and how easy it was to hang (even a pushpin will work if you don’t have a nail). The only thing I would like to change about this piece is how it only has an attachment for hanging in the piece in one direction. With abstract pieces, I like the freedom to turn them upside down or in other positions when I get “bored” of them hanging in the same direction.
I like how Redbubble allows me to view other pieces by the same artists because if you like their style, it’s awesome to be able to check out their other pieces as well. I love how many pieces I found that I really liked, especially considering how hard it normally is for me to find art that I like in stores. I could without a doubt purchase wall art from Redbubble for the rest of my life and never get bored with the art in my home. I couldn’t ask for more from a print seller. Be sure to check them out if you’re in the market for new art pieces for your home, unique t-shirts, ipad cases, etc!
