Like many people, I have a sweet tooth. I love baked goods now and then. I typically like to bake myself, but I don’t always have time for it. However, even if I’m really craving something, I rarely get store bought baked goods, not only because they do not taste the same, but also because they are chock full of unnatural ingredients. When I heard of Wholly Wholesome, a company which makes a line of baked goods with all natural ingredients, I was excited to give them a try!
I received the following products from Wholly Wholesome to try:
I received the Wholly Wholesome Bake at Home Blueberry Pie and the 70% Organic Bake at Home Chocolate Chip Cookies. Both products were frozen, and stored in the freezer before baking.
The first item we tried was the Wholly Wholesome Bake at Home Blueberry Pie. The ingredient list is very simple: Wild Blueberries, Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Wheat Flour, Water, Vegetable Oil, Organic Whole Wheat Flour, Rice Starch, Sea Salt. That’s it! There are no unnecessary preservatives, or unnatural ingredients. The pie was very easy to bake. You just take it from the freezer, and put it in the oven, for the time listed on the box. It came out great!
This pie was definitely a hit with my fiance and I. It had a nice, homemade taste, but was so easy to bake. I did think it was a bit on the sweet side, I could never have a very big piece of it, but most blueberries pies are pretty sweet. This pie definitely made me want to try their other pies. It was great enjoying a homemade pie without having to make it myself!
We tried the Wholly Wholesome 70% Organic Bake at Home Chocolate Chip Cookies next. The ingredients are simple, just like the pie. There are no extra preservatives or unnatural ingredients. The box comes with the dough already rolled out and ready to go. You just put the cookie dough pieces onto a cookie sheet, and pop it into the oven. I followed the instructions exactly, and they turned out pretty good. If you want softer cookies, I would recommend taking off about 1-2 minutes from the cook time listed. Here are the cookies:
We definitely enjoyed the cookies. They have the yummy, homemade taste, but were so easy to make! I also liked knowing that they were healthier than cookies I could have bought at the store. I also liked that since they were frozen, you could take out just a few cookies to make, and keep the rest frozen. There’s nothing better than warm cookies!
Overall, I really liked the products I tried from Wholly Wholesome. They have the nice, homemade taste, natural ingredients, and are very convenient. If you like homemade desserts, but don’t have the time to make them, this is for you!
