Baby J 1

It’s always nice to have a specific blanket or pad to lay your baby on, especially when you are out and about or at someone else’s house. I’m always worried about what my little ones are laid on especially when they are small. That’s where the Baby J Company comes in. I was sent a Baby Padded Play Mat in Michael Miller giraffes, gray, yellow, white, and gray minky fabric and two bibs to review.  Baby J Company has made a great mat that allows you to always know which side has touched the floor and which side is clean and safe for baby by the special way that it folds and closes.  I’ve tried using a regular blanket before but I can never remember which side was down and which side was up so this is a great product to have so you don’t have that problem.  The Baby J play mat folds easily and has a velcro closure which keeps it secure.

The Play Mat runs 29″ by 35″ and is 100% cotton.  The mat is really soft on the super plush minky side.  My 5 month old niece was a good size for this play mat but if you have an older child, check out the Extra Large Play Mats which measure 58″ by 58″.  The Play Mat was a big hit and everyone was asking where I got it.

When I first opened the box containing the Baby J items, I immediately fell in love with the whimsical giraffe print bibs.  They are super cute.  My babies are always big spitters for the first few months and I wish I would have had these a year ago.  Soft material bibs are the way to go for the littlest ones but usually the material on big box store bibs is so thin that a little drool is all it takes to soak through to their clothes.  Baby J bibs are not only adorable but have a double layer of material to them so they are more absorbent than ordinary bibs.  They have a velcro closure so they are easy to put on and take off.   I really like the quality feel of the Baby J bibs and they seem to be a great size.  They fit nicely on both my 1 year old and 5 month old testers.  I’d recommend then for newborn through 1 1/2 years+.  But if you have a child even older that is a big drooler, I’d say check these out.

Baby J Company became a reality when Jen’s son Luca was a couple months old.  When they would venture into the world to play groups and mommy and me classes, Jen would use a blanket to lay Luca on.  After each outing, Jen would know that the blanket had to go straight into the laundry basket for a washing because of all the unknown germs that could have accumulated during the outing.  Week by week, Jen would watch her laundry piles grow as she added the outing blankets to the already daily laundry that an infant goes through.  After seeing this, she thought that there must be a better way.  So Jen stopped at the fabric store and decided that she would try to find a solution to this problem.  She began tinkering with ideas while keeping in mind her germ-a-phobe tendencies and remembering that soft and cuddly would be most ideal for the baby.  By incorporating a velcro strap, you are assured that the floor side always goes down while the baby side folds into itself to keep it as clean and safe as possible.  After a couple experiments, Jen was able to come up with a great design that she and Luca loved.
