My little girls (ages 4 and 6) love to play board games. We have some of the classics such as Candy Land, Uno and Checkers. We have a plethora of character games in Dominos, Memory and Bingo. We have educational games and silly activity games. In fact, we have so many games that we just decided one of our linen closets would be better used as a game closet. Even with all of our games, there is one company that offers a unique line of board games unlike any of our others…that’s Peaceable Kingdom.
Peaceable Kingdom makes cooperative board games. Cooperative board games are games where all players are working toward one goal. This helps to encourage teamwork and supporting others toward a common goal. Although autonomy is good in some cases, the value of working with others to achieve a win/win conclusion cannot be stressed enough. Starting this concept at a young age has the potential of helping our children be highly productive and efficient adults.
For our review, Peaceable Kingdom sent us The Bizzy Buzzy Beat-the-Bear Board Game and Lost Puppies Cooperative Board Game.
Buzz! Cooperative Board Game takes players on an adventure through the flower meadow maze collecting nectar for the bees. All players choose a basket. Your basket color determines the color of nectar you collect. Place the hungry bear on the number of players playing. Each player rolls the dice to see how many spots to move. You can move your nectar basket in any direction you choose. Watch out because your roll of the dice could also move the bear close to the hive. As a team, plan the best route to collect nectar and safely reach the hive.
This is a great way for getting little ones to think about an order of events and how to plan ahead. Buzz! has good skill builders for my 4 year old.
Lost Puppies Cooperative Board Game needs players to help gather the lost puppies before night falls. Shuffle cards and place them on the game board. Players take turns flipping over the cards. When a card is overturned it shows you which move will need to be made: a night card will need to be placed on the corresponding number spot, a flashlight card will open a pathway and the take a peak cards will give you the opportunity to peek under a night card. Open the right pathways to get the puppies home safely.
What a neat way to teach kiddos how to problem solve as they are presented with different road blocks. Lost puppies has great lessons for my 6 year old.
Both games are suited for 2 or more players ages 5 and older. They take approximately 20 minutes to play.
Peaceable Kingdom games are a hit in my family! As a mom, I really appreciate that Peaceable Kingdom has made learning teamwork skills fun. Both of these games are great entertainment during summer break….or any other time of the year!

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
